A theme in a number of my recent posts has been how monetary policy as spectacularly ineffective in dealing with the current balance sheet recession. QE did not fix anything, it did not print money, all it did was to fuel a mini margin bubble, based on everybody misunderstading the concept of debt monetization. People were 'front running the Fed' in error.   [more]

Estimated S&P 500 Q3 Earnings Growth Drifts Lower

This very much goes in line with my last post: http://caps.fool.com/Blogs/yet-another-reason-why-i-dont/635157. Analyst estimates at major market tops tends to overshoot the acutal earnings and guidance tends to increase as the earnings are obviously not keeping pace. That is not what happened with the recent peak. Earnings estimates and earnings and the SPX basically all peaked together and have been decreasing for the last two months together.  [more]
