We will get a chance to reload our long dollar positions at better prices. I cleared my deck of dollar holdings last week and was fearful that I had abandoned ship too soon. Now I'm going to get to reload my AUD/USD and NZD/USD shorts at significantly better prices than I closed them. The Franc and Canadian Dollar are also starting to retrace nicely. Ideally, we'll get the opportunity to short AUD/USD at .90 and NZD/USD at .71. If we could accumlutate USD/CAD or USD/CHF at 1.0500 again, that too would be ideal. If the dollar index can get back to around 78.50, that'd be a perfect place to start getting aggressively long dollars again for the next big spike.  [more]

Fear. The. Dollar.

Even I, a hardcore dollar bull for months now, is surprised at how strongly the US Dollar is surging against the rest of the world (excepting the yen). The move in the Eurodollar from 1.51 to 1.36 in just a matter of weeks has been spectacular. It has almost conclusively proven that the decade-long Euro bull is finished. That's one nastly lower high (1.51 vs. 1.60) and the ferocity of this new bear market in Euros (and Pounds) has been surreal. The dollar also put in higher lows vs. the Canadian $, Swiss Franc, Singapore $, Aussie $, Kiwi $, Mexican Peso... the point is, we have witnessed the birth of a massive new bull market in dollars. How long it goes on is unclear, eventually America's problems will come home to roost -- but it appears that Portugal, Greece, Spain, Italy and France will be bankrupt long before that happens.  [more]

For alerting me to CSWG.ob, otherwise known as China Swine Genetics. Without this stinker, which scored me 99 points today, I would have only scored 921 points rather than the 1,020 I did get. Thanks to Bravo, I have my first 1,000 point day. May it be the first of many! Thanks to the US$, I actually made a few bucks today too -- something that has not happened nearly enough over the past year. Hope none of you out there got hurt too badly in today's wild action. One prediction: we'll close this week over 10,000 on the Dow.  [more]
