No stocks or business news today. Want to share a link to my own personal fundraising page I started for Team Rubicon. If you haven't heard of Team Rubicon, in a nutshell, they are a group of former and current military members that go around the country doing disaster relief/recovery work. Their work is amazing. It gives former military members an opportunity to take part in another "mission" when they return from their last mission, which is a great tool for reintegration. I am a member, and am doing my first mission with the Team next weekend in Virginia Beach, doing some painting and tidying up for a veterans-associated house/office. [more]
Great afternoon spent at FOOL HQ with Bill Mann and the FoolFund team (and a lot of the Fool HQ team as well). Good discussions had by all. I especially appreciated hearing Tom Gardner (Top Fool) speak to the group and he went out of his way to say hello to me and thank me for coming as I was leaving. That was cool. [more]
Field trip to FOOL HQ getting underway! All aboard!
It's been a slow week around here. Haven't done any trading, but have sat back and watch my gain in WETF drop from 90% to 75% (about). Greetings Fools, I hope everyone is enjoying their Holiday weekend. Before I launch into my "for real" post, let me just say this: If you enjoy your freedoms, thank a vet. Today. If you know someone that is still serving in the military, tell them thanks for serving. Yes, it may seems awkward (to both of you, take it from me: when someone tells me thanks for my service, I don't really know what to say. Your welcome? Thank you? Hmm.) Anyway, thank those that have and are serving. [more]
