Long on YUM and have a limit order in to pick up some more (my limit order is way below market price ($50) so the market will really have to dive for me to increase my position). Did buy GE and AA yesterday as well. In hindsight, I could have waited until today but without knowing how/when Congress is going to act, it's very difficult to judge how the market is going to re-act. [more]

Yesterday I started my first position in YUM. I bought at 53, missing the low of the day, but that's because I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the fact that the market was tanking. If the price pulls back again, I'll buy more (to complete my position of 100 shares). I am particularly excited about YUM's growing market share in China; I realize that US sales were pretty low comparatively, but their China sales more than made up for that. [more]

So, being a pro-military kind of guy, imagine my surprise when I hear that Congress is "considering" cutting military retirement benefits (among other military benefits). I've got a suggestion that they should look into before they start cutting military benefits....how about the Congressional Pension Plan? A congressman can serve one term, and get a pension for the rest of their lives. How is that? I have to serve 20 years of active duty service (and do 8 six-month or more deployments so far) to "earn" my pension. [more]
