Starting in sept. with investing this has been one heck of a wild ride to see all these ups and downs. But i have been having a intense amount of fun at this. I use folioinvesting.com for a flat fee less than 30.00 a month "1st 2 months free" (paid for with monthly bonus from work) to make unlimitied trades each and every single day of the week. I use folio's which are like baskets of stocks, like i.e. aerospace folio has in it HON,LMT,HSR,RTN, and NOC in a try to keep 5 stocks in each folio for a nice round balance. I currently have 50 folios of 5 stocks each. In sectors like forex, index etfs, independent oil, gold n silver, congos, emerging markets, closed end fund debt, commidities, chemicals, preferred shares and so on.    [more]

 I have 1024 holdings i use folioinvesting.comas my broker i have them split into 33 different folios. Bought my first one on 7/22/2008 Been dollar costing i buy twice a day everyday the market is open at least 5.00 in the morning and in the afternoon window. I did recieve a record # of dividends on Friday 41 , granted they only totaled 2.51 but heck ya start out small one day they will be all quarters and 50 cent pieces then bucks i just know it. This is more fun then i could have ever imgained it would be i am so hooked it is not funny. I had to buy a blackberry so i can carry the market with me everywhere i go. The problem is no one to talk to bounce ideas around. So i will post here and see what happens. I was as far down as 21.53 percent now as of close of market on friday i am only down 9.67% which i think is pretty good. I find is hard to weed out what the market people say so try to only read what sounds interesting but lately i find i am reading more and more quess i am hooked. Whoops.    [more]

Adr's Ltd's LLC's Trust's Tax issues High Dividend Look good but...........

Hello very new to investing and only doing this for a few months now I looked today using folio now but noticed i have many lts, adr's, llc,lp's and trust's stocks etf's too i know each and every single one of them is different i am worried about tax issues as this is my first year investing. Do others of you collect these types of companies I was for sure attracted at first with the somewhat amazing dividends they seem to pay. Since i am using folio i simply logged in and sold them all so i dont have any right now the Question becomes thus it that a mistake do i need some in my portfolio and what ya think?   [more]

Hello fellow fools, I am new to buying first buy was in 06-24-2008. So I am real new to this whole buying thing. I started with some small companys that did not pay any dividends, and now have purchased over 110 different compaines that all pay dividends. So i then branched out and got 42 etf's funds in all kinds of different sectors. So i feel like i am more than spread out to weather any storms that may brew our way in fact the other day when the market went down 200 points i still can ground in my portfolio. I go and look all the time and compaines and hundreds more on my watch tabs all look good and cheap so i quess how do you know when you are overbought...or do i keep buying these compaines while they are so cheap. I usually buy between 1 and 5 shares of each company at a time.   [more]

Omg Cheap Buy VWO etf Almost 52wk Low BUUUUUUY!!!!!!!

Scratch my recent post to buy ACH i am replacing it with VWO a excahnge traded fund for emerging markets This almost a 52 wk low i got to get in now much better than trying to buy my way in any other way. Can dollar cost average and get a good 2-3% stake in the etf pretty cheap has soared before and almost certain it will again.
