Find a winner and ride It !

December 31, 2009 – Comments (5)

As we begin a new decade,we look back and realize that over the past 10 years, the stock market has gone nowhere. The Standard & Poors Index Is now 23% lower than It was at the beginning of the year 2000....  Buying and holding large cap stocks was not the way to riches....  You have to be selective In your stock picks, you have to find the right companies, and you have to put a large portion of your resources Into them. Diversification Is fine up to a point, but you have to have the largest percentage of your Investment dollars on the two or three companies that you really believe In. I will use my real life portfolio as an example. As I closed out the year,I had 14,000 shares of company (A)  11,000 shares of company (B) and 4,000 shares of company (C)  75% of my Investment dollars were In three (3) companies.  I had a total of (7) other positions that comprised the other 25% of my portfolio. I LOST an average of  25% on my money on these 7 positions (on paper) and all 7 companies would be considered speculative.... However, the three companies that I invested the most of my money In  are up 1500%, 15%,and 10%. I Invested a total of $40,000 beginning the first week In May,and my total portfolio Is up over 55% with a net worth just over $63,000. If you look for companies that are undervalued, and you are convinced that they represent true value,do not be afraid to make larger share purchases In these companies In relation to your entire portfolio....  Find a winner, and ride It !!     TS           http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34633553/ns/business-stocks_and_economy   [more]

Looking for another sell off

December 27, 2009 – Comments (7)

Caution lights are flashing again,we could be In for a correction In very short order. I have been tinkering with a Directional Movement Index{DMI} for a few months. The last time that I called for a correction using this Index,I hit It right on the nose.....   as you can see on (June 17th)  This time It's a little different. We headed down In June even as the {ADX} was rising, thus the downturn was relatively short lived, then actually reversed as the DMI+ crossed the DMI- to the upside with stocks In tow.... However, the new signal could be a sign of a larger and more sustained downturn....   DMI+ has crossed the DMI- to THE DOWNSIDE,AND THE ADX CONFIRMATION LINE HAS BEEN TRENDING DOWN FOR 5 MONTHS !!!  Toss In the fact that the {VIX} Is trading near 52 wek lows, and It starts to get a little scary If you are long the market....  Be careful fools.....  TS                              Were Heading Down

Greenspan calls for lower wages for Americas skilled workers

December 27, 2009 – Comments (8)

TS- The recent attempt to blow up an American jetliner (AGAIN) goes to the heart of this story. Our borders are wide open, and fraud Is rampant within our Visa and Immigration system. If our government continues with Its "open border policies" there will be grave consequences beyond just the JOB MARKET........     LAGOS (Reuters) - A Nigerian man who tried to blow up a U.S. passenger jet had lived outside the West African nation for some time and only returned on the eve of the foiled attack, the Nigerian government said on Sunday. The man in question has been living outside the country for a while. He sneaked into Nigeria on the 24th of December and left the same day," Nigerian Information Minister Dora Akunyili told reporters in the commercial capital Lagos   [more]

Christmas Tree Blessing

December 25, 2009 – Comments (0)

      Christmas Tree Blessing

Holy Creator of Trees,
bless with your abundant grace
this our Christmas tree as a symbol of joy.
May its evergreen branches be a sign
of your never-fading promises.
May its colorful lights and ornaments call us
to decorate with love our home and our world.
May the gifts that surround this tree
be symbols of the gifts we have received
from the Tree of Christ’s Cross.
Holy Christmas tree within our home,
may Joy and Peace come and nest
in your branches and in our hearts. Amen.

A perfect example of media spin, and the reason for left wing newspapers continuing decline

December 24, 2009 – Comments (2)

How Harry Reid shepherded healthcare reform through the SenateThe Democratic leader's rare grasp of the institution and of colleagues' individual needs enabled him to bargain and smooth the path to victory by Christmas.       TS....  The opening statement of this op-ed In the L.A Times Is one of the most bizzare I have ever seen. You would literally have to stay awake day and night In deep thought to come up with this completely ridiculus and partisan statement by a lap dog news organization....   Rare grasp of the Institution?  LOL !!!!    Bargain and smooth the path?  LOL!!!!    His "colleagues" INDIVIDUAL NEEDS ?  This bill was passed with regard to Harry Reid's colleagues Individual needs ?  What about the needs of the AMERICAN PEOPLE ???   Absolutely unbelievable......     http://www.latimes.com/news/nation-and-world/la-na-health-ticktock24-2009dec24,0,2438755.story?track=rss         [more]

Who do the Democrats represent?

December 22, 2009 – Comments (4)

December 22, 7:34 AMLouisville Economic Policy ExaminerRob Binsrick   Over the weekend, the Democrats in Washington celebrated the fact that they were able to wheel and deal amongst themselves to clear all the hurdles necessary to pass a massive healthcare reform package....Who are the Democrats Representing these Days?  Their mood is one of euphoria but the rest of the nation does not seem to be sharing in it. In fact, for the rest of the nation the mood could be characterized more as one of skepticism and fear rather than one of hope and happiness. That mood is not surprising since according to Gallup polling only 25% of Americans view the Democrat-controlled Congress favorably. And according to the Real Clear Politics averages, President Barack Obama’s approval ratings are already under 50%. That latter stat is somewhat ironic given that just over a year ago he was bragging that he was the change Americans had all been waiting for. But it is the change that he and the Democrats have brought which have led to the low approval ratings for both Obama and those in Congress.      http://www.examiner.com/x-6996-Louisville-Economic-Policy-Examiner~y2009m12d22-Who-are-the-Democrats-Representing-these-Days    TS....  I cannot believe that Congress Is acting so Incoherently On this Issue. The more I find out about this mess of a bill, the more I have come to realize that TERM LIMITS are the only way to stop the overwhelming abuses of power within Congress  [more]

Three Ring Circus In the Senate

December 18, 2009 – Comments (10)

After watching the Senate on CSPAN the past week I have come to the conclusion that the Democrats In the Senate, and particularly Harry Reid have completely lost their minds. They are still huddled behind closed doors trying to secure the 60 votes needed to pass their healthcare bill. As of this writing NOBODY has seen the bill except a chosen few that are working with Dingy Harry In the shadows. They Intend to SPRING the bill on everyone In the dead of the night, and ask the Senate to vote on It even though nobody has read It!! What the ...... Is going on In this country?!!      Barnum and Bailey have nothing on the U.S. Senate    [more]
