If there is one thing I will not do, it's thumbs down companies without a strong indicator of their loss of earnings potential RELATIVE TO OTHER COMPANIES IN THEIR SECTOR.  Obviously, this has a cost--about 90 percentile points.  I'm not livid with my 4.4 percentile rank.  I'm living with it.  Anyway, I did my balance sheet analysis of the companies I rated, and most fit the bill as competitive, with strong growth or value indications.  That's my GREED doing the talking.  [more]

Hmm...  Just wondering what exactly would be an IRL strategy to get my limited (12 position) diversity portfolio to reflect such upside...because right now, it only shows modest gains over Friday, and hefty losses from where it was a week before last Friday.  I suppose it would have to involve options writing and trading.  Anyway, just putting it out there, if TMF combines forces with, say, OXPS, that might actually allow people to have IRL portfolios which track their gains relative to indices.  That also means I would have lost >90% during the previous 5 trading days, rather than the 30-40% I did, on paper anyway.    [more]
