This unending downward spiral has to come to an end at some point, but I'm sorry to say that I'm not helping matters.  You see, in the CAPS Halloween contest, I shorted several ultrashorts.  I figured my only chance of winning was to be "contrarian".  Of course, as soon as I entered the picks, then the market started to decline even faster than before and it's now down 20%.  At one point, one of the ultrashorts nearly doubled in value.

While I know that my picks really have nothing to do with the market, I am a guilty kind of fellow, so I thought I owed you all an apology.

There you have it.  I'll stand over here in the corner if you want to throw stones...

Are you also one of those people that chose to accept loans they couldn't afford and caused the crash of the banking industry?

My favorite college football team, the Auburn Tigers, always seem to lose whenever I watch them play.  I feel responsible even though that's totally irrational.

If superstitions could only make the news headlines. Then the squawk box would bump up their average of being full of it to about 110%. Damn, now that I put that in, they will start telling the truth:)

Oh no, I'm afraid you are mistaken. You have to understand Ed that you are 100% responsible for how the market behaves. ;-)

(just kidding if you couldn't tell).

That's a good strategy for the contest btw imo, high risk, but that's what you need to win.
