Here we got the most effective way to chat in the new and improved GoodVibe lounge. Just edit your nickname to match your Cap id or whatever you want us to know you with and then type, post a link to a video, send a smile or what have you. You can also chat personally with any member without the rest knowing. Okay! Please, get a room for that! :)

I guess -I am not sure yet- if you have a Meebo id, you can send files, webcam, etc. like IM application. I hope you will enjoy this great application that will save you the refreshing time. If you want to post something out of the chat room in Caps' comment section, please tell us because we will not be able to know that you posted something. We will get to know more with time how we can use this thing and if it's useful.

123Spot, et al - Just a bit of clarification here, and my bad for not having the clarity of mind to do so the other day (and, BTW, second time to type all this up, now - wasn't logged on to the Fool when I first tried to post.)

My wife (Ryan's step-mother) and I live a few miles East of Oklahoma City. Ryan lives in Austin Texas, somewheres around 450-500 miles due South of us. His mother lives in San Antonio with her significant other. Ryan has quit his job and is moving to San Antonio in with his mother. That is just a temporary situation until they get all their eggs in a row with SSI and can find a place for him to live in Houston (just 200 miles up I-10.) My youngest daughter and 7 year old grandson are also in San Antonio, and my grandson is crazy about his Uncle Ryan. My oldest daughter, her husband, and my 10 and 2-1/2 year old grand-daughters live in Houston right down the US 59 from the medical complex there. One of my other favorite websites is a surf-fishing website, and one of the posters there has just recently won his current battle with cancer. He provided us with info on low cost living arrangements down there for people in Ryan's situation. I have sent Ryan the link to this blog, and to the message board on my fishing site, as well as direct copies of your posts and the fishing buddy's post. Ryan full well knows the battle he is engaging in, but he has the will and determination and attitude to get the show on the road to win it. Last night he spent the evening with friends in Austin preparing to move and saying his good-byes for the time being. Please, please, please keep the prayers and the good info coming. Mary Ann - thank you for doing what you do, and for your heartfelt input. GoodVibe - for your spontaneous combustion created here to provide hope, peace, love, and good will - it just might prove to be that the greatest investment knowledge I take from this site is the friendships made here, the prayers given up, and the information that might enable my son to win his battle and live a good, long life. I bet you never thought that your will to enable others to learn from you would take this path! Should we succeed, then I will owe you for my son's life.

Hi Anchak,

thanks for the comment in #95 from Mary's last Taxman lounge. What will really help my wild imagination (which is true and I like that about myself) is if you could please tell me what to read in Elliot book that explains why we can't now be ending the wedge with a large thrust up (I called the wedge {2} and the thrust up {3}, could be that {2} is B and {3} is C, subwaves of what I am calling {2} or B look like a-b-c-d-e). I see the huge resistance too, just am looking to learn about pure counts and how they can go.

Thanks very much all!

See first if the CIL application is open in #4.

If not, then read this:

I am trying to figure a way to have an application in our chat room that will save us the refresh button, give us more interaction with each other, and save us from the continuous opening of blogs when the comments stretch for miles and the page becomes hard to download. I am testing two of these applications now but can't find them to fit our needs fully. We might use them sometimes but so far my bet we will be using the same old commenting method. Ideas and opinions are welcome. Also if you have a similar application, give us a buzz.

"Cover it live" benefits:

1. The live event is displayed in a very pleasant viewer Window with many features that cover all our needs and maybe more.
2. Readers don’t have to set up usernames and passwords to watch, send in comments or participate in polls.
3. Readers are not required to download anything to watch.
4. Instantly published commentary for some as if you were using an instant messaging product. Type and click send.
5. No refresh. Just scroll and read.

Cons:

1. As they put it in "Cover it live": "It’s not chat, an open thread or a reader forum. It’s a live event! We think your readers visit your site to read what you have to say on issues or events that are important to them."

That mean "It's not free for all to speak what they want and when they want."

As they put it: "The important point here is that the writer stays in control of the content so it doesn’t go completely off the rails."

Good luck with it in our lounge Smile

2. A moderator is always needed to keep this application functioning or people will have no access to comment at all. You will type something and if no one there to give you access, good luck waiting.

3. All is not lost! They give the moderator(s) an option to allow only lucky 50 people [minus moderator(s)] to have ‘Always Allow comments’ status. But only after a moderator allow them to have that status and sometimes for a reason not obvious to me yet they lose that status and they have to be given a permission again (making the role of a moderator not a pleasant one because (s)he must be around or those who want to finish their thought will be pissed off not able to see their comments.

4. To be honest, I noticed with large people talking at the same time, the conversation although addictive and enjoyable is disjointed and time consuming. We can't keep it up all the time open -even if we can- as the regular commentary method caps provide. Even if 5 of us became moderators, I don't know if we will be able to do it. We can use it part of the time or if someone can tell me how we do it with these restrictions, I'll be happy camper. I love this application.

Okay, then, that worked.

Ryan's sister started texting me from MDA yeasterday afternoon. She and her mother and Ryan were there for an initial consult. Wished I would have know, but my time will likely be better utilized once treatement engages. Dual treatment plan: IL-2 and TIL, starting with the initial removal of the neck tumor to start the lymphocyte culture for later infusion. 5 days in ICU for the IL-2 infusion, then a few days at his sisters to allow him to get more comfortable and lose some of the fluid gain that will cause, then home to his mother's in San Antonio. That's about a 3-1/2 hour drive straight out IH-10 for them. So for the duration it will be basically one week on, then three weeks off and repeat for the length of the IL-2 treatment. We talked about me being able to pick him up and bring him to my place in OKC one or more times during that treatment. At some point a few months down the road the culturing of the lymphocytes should be far enough along to start that infusion. His Interferon treatment stopped as soon as he got his results Tuesday.

His mother has already initiated the SSDI action, but his boss at the company where he works wants to keep him on the payroll, paying him for 30 hours a week so he can keep his insurance. Seems like that would negatively impact his ability to get Medicare coverage along with the SS income. Also, it will depend on co-pay requirements of his insurance. Without more indepth research on that I can't advise him. I did convey to him to get his mother to check that out thoroughly prior to making a firm decision and action. He was going in for an MRI or CT scan at 4:30 yesterday to make sure there was no brain involvement, which I understand would rule out the IL-2 treatment. Haven't heard back from them yet, and waiting on e-mail from Alicia, my oldest.

That's where we stand right now. Please keep the prayers flowing! And thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

This is going to sound like a strange request to some of you, but if - AND ONLY IF - you truly do honestly believe that God can do whatever He wants to do, Ask Him to Heal Ryan.  Be specific.  Ask Him to heal each problem individually and expect that your prayer will be answered with healing.  If you don't expect this, the prayer is empty.  Pray out loud.  Ask in the name of Christ.  Ask Through the Holy Spirit that is living within Ryan.  Then ask in the same way for comfort, support, loving care, and peace for each member of Ryan's family - including those that he cares about deeply.  Do this as often as you think of him.  In the car at a traffic light.  When you are getting ready for work, when you are fixing a meal, whenever.

I have spent years learning how to ask God's aid.  It occurred to me this morning that I have not offered this to you.  If it feels right to you, try this method.  God meets us all where we are and as we are.  This works for me.  It brings me into communion with Him.  If it does the same for you, please use it with my blessing.  I reserve this for the most serious of needs, the life or death, and for me, this works if anything will.

It is not foolish to tell you my method for heartfelt prayer.  This is no more strange than telling you how to read a technical chart.  It is no more odd than teaching someone how to use a computer.  The question is Can you believe that this works?  If you believe that this works, If you believe that God hears and answers, then all you need is the "how to" part.  Consider this a lesson in one method of prayer from a prayer warrior with many years experience.

I am only now beginning to see that perhaps God had more in store for me at CAPS than my financial future.  He could have offered me that without creating a community of caring here.  Ryan is not the only one who has need of this community.  Dwot is not the only one who has had benefit (with her field trip for her students).  I have gained greatly from this fellowship and I hope I am not the only one. .

Blessings to you all!

Turner Radio Network out with a shocker on what they claim are the leaked Stress results. We paraphrase:

The Turner Radio Network has obtained "stress test" results for the top 19 Banks in the USA.

The stress tests were conducted to determine how well, if at all, the top 19 banks in the USA could withstand further or future economic hardship.

When the tests were completed, regulators within the Treasury and inside the Federal Reserve began bickering with each other as to whether or not the test results should be made public. That bickering continues to this very day as evidenced by this "main stream media" report.

The Turner Radio Network has obtained the stress test results. They are very bad. The most salient points from the stress tests appear below.

1) Of the top nineteen (19) banks in the nation, sixteen (16) are already technically insolvent.

2) Of the 16 banks that are already technically insolvent, not even one can withstand any disruption of cash flow at all or any further deterioration in non-paying loans.

3) If any two of the 16 insolvent banks go under, they will totally wipe out all remaining FDIC insurance funding.

4) Of the top 19 banks in the nation, the top five (5) largest banks are under capitalized so dangerously, there is serious doubt about their ability to continue as ongoing businesses.

5) Five large U.S. banks have credit exposure related to their derivatives trading that exceeds their capital, with four in particular - JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, HSBC Bank America and Citibank - taking especially large risks.

6) Bank of America`s total credit exposure to derivatives was 179 percent of its risk-based capital; Citibank`s was 278 percent; JPMorgan Chase`s, 382 percent; and HSBC America`s, 550 percent. It gets even worse: Goldman Sachs began reporting as a commercial bank, revealing an alarming total credit exposure of 1,056 percent, or more than ten times its capital!

7) Not only are there serious questions about whether or not JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs,Citibank, Wells Fargo, Sun Trust Bank, HSBC Bank USA, can continue in business, more than 1,800 regional and smaller institutions are at risk of failure despite government bailouts!

The debt crisis is much greater than the government has reported. The FDIC`s "Problem List" of troubled banks includes 252 institutions with assets of $159 billion. 1,816 banks and thrifts are at risk of failure, with total assets of $4.67 trillion, compared to 1,568 institutions, with $2.32 trillion in total assets in prior quarter.

Put bluntly, the entire US Banking System is in complete and total collapse.

UCO will decay just like any other 2x-3x ETF. If you are looking short term, UCO is ok if you think oil will rebound quickly. I would not invest in UCO long term.

If you are looking long term, USO or USL is safer.

Also, before investing be aware of contango and how it affects USO and UCO. USO and UCO do not track the spot price of crude.

I felt that people here would be calling for big downs now.  It's pretty apparant.  That makes me scared that tomorrow will be a big up day.  But now that I said that, it will be a down day!  Argh, now it will just be flat... paranoia paradox!

I'm posting this chart as a part of my practice. This is an alternative count with us being in wave 4 of A. This can be disproved very quickly tomorrow. My strategy is to eliminate as many counts as possible as the market progresses. I am hoping to come to a place where I have a high probablity of catching a turn.

GV & others

Got the 411 on CIL; tested it out on my own blog being both user and producer at the same time and here is my 2 cents. It's a simple application using an imbedded iframe (so you can post on websites).  An iframes is basically a website within a website.  In any event, the application does not allow anonymous postings; so the producer has to approve (or block)every user comment; a real pain if your not constantly there (especially if a popular blog).  However, approving users/comments is easily done in the CIL producer console: either approve a single comment by clicking the green plus icon on right side or to constantly approve just click medal icon in right sidebar and choose the permissions for the user.

The biggest problem with this application is that it uses session data; ie your display name means nothing and CIL only keeps track of your last browser connectivity and not your IP address (IP logging would have been a much better design).  So say if Preston logs on, gets approved for producer role, posts some stuff and then leaves by either closing or refreshing browser. Now he wants to log in again (by clicking play again) CLI considers him a new person/user even though his username is still Preston.  So now he will have 2 names appear as producer bc you have to approve the "new" Preston comments. Therefore, the producer has to stay on top of this by watching dupe names under settings>show/edit/panelists/producers. Simply trash/delete dupe usernames.  So everyone chatting should keep one dedicated browser open for the chat and you'll avoid the multiple log ons; if not producer has to take care of dupe log ons. The rest of the functionality is just window dressing to make it look nice. Hope this helps.

BTW there is a nice stats option for the host so you can see how many people are looking at this.

Pres- I tried to run through everyone's comments from last night so I had some idea of where thoughts were- entertaining to say the least.

My thinking for today- moves up and down-- and down at the end of the day. Does that fit with some of the chart suggestions?

I'm going to watch today, I have a stop on my FAZ and will look at things if that sells.

Is GV going to put up the lounge?

I thought so but I don't see it. I'm watching today- already sold FAZ (got too fearful- still working on that- so missed some great gains- but I'm still in the learning phase). I have an IRA and a personal account with Scottrade. But the uninvested $$ earn nothing. I need to figure out how to keep at least a little something being earned on it.

We will see if turn around Tuesday is followed by weak Wednesday. I saw no evidence today that warranted this turnaround........no matter what Geithner says.

But then a wise man once told me, the market goes neither up nor down in a straight line.
