Congratulations to fellow Fool nrvbrokerage on winning* the TARPed Banks contest.  Unfortunately, there were only 420 entries so the convertible preferred prize didn't convert.

After the leader board being dominated by green thumb scorecards the past few weeks, nrvbrokerage snuck into the lead with a scorecard sporting nine red thumbs and one lonely green thumb.  Could that be a sign that the financial rally is about to roll over?  Or maybe nrvbrokerage is simply good at picking weak banks.

'ol TARPed ended up in 11th place.  And, since the contest was announced, the CAPS rating has climbed from dead last all the way up to to 66608 out of 66617 (too many triple sixes in there), I picked up the score club 200 charm and picked up, lost, picked up and lost again score leader for WSFS.

Thanks to all who played, commented on my blogs, or picked TARPedBanks as a favorite.  And, thanks to TMF for running this.  I really got a kick out of using this indexing profile for the contest.

*Disclaimer:  Winner announcement unofficial.  Before the results can be finalized, I'm sure TMF has to:
 - double check the numbers,
 - make sure the winner is eligible,
 - run the results past their accounting firm,
 - testify before Rep. Barney "FNM is sound" Frank's and Sen. Chris "Friend of Angelo" Dodd's Committees,
 - get an 'ok' from Tim Geithner and
 - check the status of Goldman Sachs' contest derivative contracts and AIG's counterparty risk.

Well, maybe not all that, I made the part about the accounting firm up.

Fool on!
