Back in April I posted some thoughts on missing links.

If you notice some of the TMF articles, they have hyper links. Well this TMF article I saw mentioned Barrett Business Services, but there was no link. Noticing this, and knowing why there was no link, I posted my thoughts.

At any rate, the information that I use from a company's 10-K filing in order to create the worksheets I generate when I am interviewing a company, the PDF file you referred to, was preliminary, but I posted my thoughts anyway.

Apparently, all of this happened about the time they were researching Barrett on one of the discussion boards and I got a number of e-mails asking me if I would follow up and post another Barrett worksheet (the PDF) once I had the final version complete.

As to the PDF, and many things in the world of accounting, it really isn't telling you anything directly. It is just a worksheet that I fill out when I'm researching a stock.

If you notice, it has quite a few metrics associated with it that are, at least to me, valuable when I consider a company for investment, or when I'm posting my thoughts about a company.

The worksheet itself is intended to be used as a baseline for continued research...reading the entire 10-K, doing 10 year averages, etc.

I post links to my worksheets so that anyone reading one of my posts can see not only where I got the information in my post, but can download a copy to incorporate into their own research.

Just think of it as the cite in a term paper.
