How do I improve my accuracy?

My accuracy is at 70% right now, which is pretty good. I made this account because on my original one (minimidgy) I wanted to start over, and closed all my picks. This definitely did not "clear" my score like I was hoping to (which is kinda obvious now that I look at it). This froze my accuracy around 50% and although I was in the 99th percentile for score, my rating suffered because of the low accuracy. How can I improve my accuracy, both on this account and my original account?

If you're really trying to just pump up your accuracy, close picks after you have a gain of at least 5 points. Then, reopen the pick (if you still like its prospects of out performing.)  It's just a part of how the system is set up.  If your other name is 99th percentile in score, just work on picking things you have high confidence that will outperform.  Look for opportunities to close out other picks (like on a rally... even if you close it out above 0 but less than 5, its better than it falling back into the red).

or stick with this one since you're 98th percentile for accuracy :)

Something I'm doing in an attempt to get my score and accuracy out of the pits they fell into a few months ago is to check the StockScouter rarings at http://moneycenral.msn.com. I'm finding that the Co.s that site says had positive earnings surprises in the most recent quarter are more likely han more to outperform the market for a while than Co.s that had negative earnings surprises.

Hope that helps.

Don't put any effort into this. Just wait until the scoring system is altered. It will be since the "accuracy" component is ridiculous. Have a look at this post.
