I believe news casts are grossly irresponsible when they do not provide an expert in the field with a proven track record. We now have to deal with poor performance money managers,non-doctor health experts and non-meteorologist weather people reporting their opinion as fact. This is not dangerous for people that are even moderately schooled in a discipline because they have their scholarly sources the uninitiated often act on these opinions.
i.e.
1) The economy is discussed and a company is highlighted from a person reading a teleprompter who has little experience in economics and less in trading. A person invests without due diligence or an understanding of the term.
2) A "health expert" exaggerates a West Nile outbreak warning or salmonela warning. The result is people stay home or do not buy a product.
3) The nice-looking non-phd weather person says its not gonna rain and gee it does.
I understand generalized newscasts/ papers/ common internet sources are done to entertain because our attention span is waning in America. I also understand that news is now big business and has to make money. In the the past when it was a money losing pride and joy hallmark of the outlet it was presented on.
ENOUGH is ENOUGH already hire a financial guru, doctor and meterologist and let the uneducated reporters cover pets being rescued. At least get a syndicated expert in for 5 minutes if you are a small market. MY TWO CENTS>>>J
