 I received this from TMFJake:

All Star Team:  I received notice from MSN that they will need to remove the All Star Portfolio from the MSN Top Stocks contest of the All Star team doesn’t return to weekly blogging activity.    Are you all still interested in participating?

I think simply blogging on some of the pitches for the stocks in the portfolio would be an easy way to meet their requirements.  Or, even blogging about stocks that you haven’t added could be interesting.  You could characterize these as “watch list” blogs.  For example, EV38’s recent pitch for OPCDF.PK, could be a good watch list blog.  Just some thoughts.

Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.   If you’re in a pinch, I’d be happy to work with someone’s pitch and do some light editing so that I can include it in an MSN Blog as a ghost writer for the All Star team.  J

I think i would like to keep doing it, and with the help of the fools who have already offered it should be no big deal. TSIF has said he would do one, and i assume he(you) will read this, so here are the links to the blog rules. I know you sent me your email address, but i looked around and couldn't find it, so either post it here, or send it to allstarportfolio@gmail.com, and i will send you the password to the msnblogging site.

Other fools willing to make a blog for msn, please do the same.

Also, Russiangambit has closed his ACN pick, and i think it will be 5+ points when it closes tomorrow. Due to several reasons, it will be closing on Wallstreetsurvivor at a loss of $7 plus two commissions, or less than $30 which is small potatoes when russiangambit could very well give us a winner.

If any admins of this account are around, I'd like to pick TRGL as my contribution to ASP. I'll write a detailed analysis of the company later this week

I have your reservation bridgeboy, and i have to say, most of you top players are a mystery to me. I would have never guessed that for your best pick, but that must be why you have a good score and i don't.
Still time to change your mind and give a different pick, but you know how this works. It's all you. I will need your pitch, and a timeline, and then i will post it.

I will be writing another blog for tomorrow. Among the topics on that blog are letting each player pick two stocks, and adding other criteria for players; such as allowing top outperform players or highest average pick players, etc.

I spoke last week of the possibility of entry points on WNR, JJG, and, MVG, and am adding MCD to the list. These entry points are based on the sense that they are on the watch list, and are at lows vs S/P.

Those that are familiar with WSS know that there is another "permanent portfolio" option, i have set up an experiment setting limits to that alternative portfolio, and will keep fools posted on it's progress. Anyfool who wants to work on setting limits for their stock in this alternate experiment, let me know

************************  TO CHOOSE A STOCK FOR THIS PORTFOLIO READ BELOW

One green thumb per person. Minimum Time Frame 6 months. Players are free to change the pick as often as caps permits.

No Ultras (FAZ was picked before the discussion was finished, and will be closed soonish). No Bear ETFS. No .OB stocks

To qualify for a pick you must:

Have a RATING of more than 99 on the day of pick

   -OR-

Be a "yes"man with a RATING of 97 or higher on the day of pick

   -AND-

Have been a caps player for more than 6 months.

    -OR-

Be in the Top Ten at the time of pitch, or have at one time been the Top Fool.

All picks MUST have a pitch, and a time frame.

To submit a pick Players should attach their pitch to a blog from this caps account. I will then copy that to the pitch on the stocks page, so that it will be visible on both the stock page and the quickstats page. I will of course place your name, and score at time of pick on the pitch.

You can name your stock here, for dibs (will hold for 7 days), but i will not post the stock until you have made your pitch, and picked a time frame, also.

I am willing to share the password with a few someones, if they would like, to facilitate timing.

There has already been some interest shown in making an 'Investment Vehicle' to work with this portfolio. We have opened a google group to discuss the possibility. To keep static to a minimum we have created it as a private group discussion. To be invited to the discussion, please send your screen name to allstarportfolio@gmail.com and ask for an invitation. Thanks.

I want to throw CPBY into the mix as my pick for the next six months.  This is a small-cap China play with plenty of upside.  CHINA PUBLIC SEC TECH is a holding company that operates through its Chinese subsidiary, Bo Hai Wen Technology Company Limited. It is a provider of solutions for the public security sector in China.

The company has increasing revenue and earnings, and the future looks bright.  CPBY was also granted "favored company status" by the Chinese government.  They also are branching out into other segments that could ensure more growth for the long run.  In their recent earnings report, the company beat estimates by 20%.

I beleive this company could see the $6 range in the next 6-12 months.

thanks solaris, I'm game to blog and I also sent you an email.

It sounds like right now MSN is after "volume" more so than quality. I can satisfy the initial request for "volume"..... :)

How can I get in touch with you if I want to close my position in a timely manner. Mostly I mean in the green +5.

AMD is very speculative and I still think it is massively undervalued based on the price. But if the aim of the portfolio is to acheive accuracy, then it would be better to close when it turns positive.

Kask, you can always do some math and have Solaris set a limit.  The problem is, as you know, the S&P is drifting as well as the stock, so you need a reasonable margin on a limit, especially on a very volitile day.  Solaris did share the username/password with a few people and I'm game to help him as well, but am not yet "cleared" for takeoff! The problem has been being VERY clear on the intent....no one wants to "guess" wrong on another players calls!!!!   The aim of the portfolio is to achieve allstar status, accuracy helps, but if you have another call that you think is a better pick then that should be considered as well.  It's nice to get at least +5 on your picks, but sometimes +1 beats holding them!!!  :)

It looks like AMD is swinging "your way"...... :)

Solaris, there is no way you will go under. If nothing helps I will try to raise money for a new fund (how about "BioAgFund A-I") and you will be the first investment.

MAG Silver Corp (AMEX:MVG and TSE:MAG) has really underperformed compared to other silver companies in the past year and it could be a good candidate for a quick gain. However, ever since the "takeunder" bid from Fresnillo (LON:FRES), their joint venture partner and operator of their main asset, the Juanicipio property, they have languished. It seems to me MAG picked a very good spot and have found very nice grades right next to Fresnillo's massive silver property and thought that they would get a decent return for the solid exploration work they put into it, but the problem is Fresnillo does not want to pay a fair price. They want it at their price and are big enough to wait MAG out. Also, it seems no other silver company wants to have to deal with an uncooperative partner like Fresnillo, so no other bids for MAG's property have been made and MAG was relying on Fresnillo to develop the property. It is very unclear how things will work out going forward with this property and for this reason it seems MAG is making an effort to establish other viable projects through acquisitions of promising properties in other parts of Mexico.
