October 14, 2009 – Comments (8) | RELATED TICKERS: CNO , MNI , OMN

On 9/15/09, I made a list of 13 stocks I said will have a 50% gain (each one of them) within 3 months or less (see the original post here).

Today, MNI is up 56.6% since I created the list on /15/09. One down...

Here is the update for the rest of the stocks from my 50% list (as of 3:15 PM):

OMN up 47.3%

BLC up 28.7%

FTWR up 30.0%

ODP up 25.2%

CNO up 24.1%

BPOP up 18.9%

NNBR up 17.3%

TA up 10.4%

PWAV up 6.9%

THC up 4.0%

CPE down 1.4%

CMRG down 12.2%

The whole 50% portfolio up 19.6% (if same amount of money invested in each stock)

S&P 500 up 3.9%

first CPE is up 14% today..nice call.... second for those of us who might have missed this huge run on media stock, is it too late to buy in now,should we wait for a pull back first, or should we shift our attention to other stock picks??

I like the fact that TA jumped 20% today as I very much believe in this stock. Today, TA was the second stock after CNO to make the top 5 list on the CAPS front page. Nice...

CPE did nicely as well, jumping 15%, but still in red since I made the list. dare, good call, perfect timing on your buy 2 days ago...

Mid to long term, many of them will be 5-baggers, imo.

In RL, I own MNI, GTN, LEE, and GCI.

Take MNI, for example. It is at $4.02, and it used to be a $70 stock.

After cost-cutting measures taken through this recession and more revenue coming from their websites like CareerBuilder.com, cars.com, etc., I think they might even be making more money in the future than they did in the past.

Am I suggesting MNI is gonna be a $70 again? No, but imo, it should be at least $15-$20, making it an easy 4 or 5-bagger from here (in 12 - 18 months).

Again, just my opinion, I'm no expert by any means...

p.s. There are a few cheaper media stocks (below $2) like, which might be a little riskier, but might end up being 10-baggers.

p.s.2 MNI is reporting tomorrow morning. I was afraid to double my position in MNI today (I was planning on it a few days ago) just because MNI was up 50% during the last 5 trading days. However, if I like the news tomorrow morning, I will definitely pull the trigger (even if MNI is up 10-15% by that time).
