25 Blogs That Are Better Than This One

Well, ok, we don't count because "[b]logs used primarily as fronts for other businesses have also been excluded"...i.e. this blog is just one part of Fool.com.

And valuable doesn't necessarily mean good, but 24/7 Wall Street updated their list of the 25 most valuable private blogs.

The top 5:

1) Gawker Properties

2) The Huffington Post

3) Perez Hilton

4) The Drudge Report

5) TechCrunch

Two things that surprised me:

1) Four of the top 25 blogs (some include multiple sites) are at least partially dedicated to Apple news...including MacRumors (#8) and Apple Insider (#18).

2) Not too many financial blogs cracked the top 25...highest was Seeking Alpha at #11.

What are your favorite financial blogs? One of my favorites is the New Yorker's Balance Sheet by James Surowiecki...I'm amazed at how he can distill complex topics into very few words.

F-wall street.  That blog and the book associated with it are, hands-down, the best sources of value investing tactics I've ever seen.  That blog/book combined with a great value investing newsletter, like TMF's Inside Value, really allow an investor who has the discipline to practice value investing but doesn't have the ability to devote 40-hours per week to research to still have a complete value investing system.

I'm shocked that Seeking Alpha was so high!  That's good news for me since I write for them. :)

Actually, I've said for awhile that SA has one of the most brilliant business models and that the non-financial media should look to mimic them.

@dudemonkey,

Just skimmed through the site...pretty interesting at first glance.

@JakilaTheHun,

Maybe Seeking Alpha can start an all-Madonna blog called Seeking Susan.

How about The Debt Gazette, it covers most of the breaking news stories in the financial sectors as well as the occasional bit of advice or upcoming new trends.

New stuff up every day and filled with interesting and opinionated takes, check it out. I really like their take on the issues, kinda with that every man feel but not uninformed.
