For shareholders in the big Pharma/Insurance, I guess one could be jumping up and down at the prospect of mandatory insurance.  But who is kidding whom?  Congress should have called the bill "The Health Insurance Bill"  NOT Health Care......

I've said before, I'm simple.

Health Care... that is getting a doctor's care when  you are sick.

So all folks have the right to get a doctor's care regardless of financial position, and it has nothing to do with insurance.

The USA could learn much from our dual/care system.   Private hospitals for those who have insurance, public ones for those who do not have insurance.  Doctors required to provide dual service. This means that the poor get the same quality care as the rich. And the rich do not complain that the poor person who got sick, gets treated with respect to his person. Not at all. The rich guy knows it is in his interest for the society as a whole to be in good health, those are his customers!

So it is clear Congress miss-named the bill. Sounds like Health care "less" (about the poor).  Perhaps next fall some of those Virginia swamp dwellers will be on the other side of the river, along with the lobbiest and $ men.

On a side note, I do have one suggestion of improvement. Make the lobbiest who represent corporate america...get elected and hold representative seats. We have this, and it works great. It would cut down on the corporate graft if these people had to be held accountable, and could not enter the halls where bills are passed without being elected.

This is a philsophical position and not a self evident truth.

It is truth that is practiced here. It works. Nothing philosophical about the working system we have.  Further, it is a system that was tested with SARS that shut down the city. The top doc, at the time Margaret Chan, now head of WHO. When it comes to first hand experience, no place comes close... check out the sales of bleach!  Even the elevators get the bleach treatment on an hourly basis, ATM pads are film protected ETC...So the poor here do not need to be concerned about quality health care, period.  Insurance does not enter the equation.
