A Green New Year!

Hooray! My portifolio is finally in the green again in spite of my starting some investments at the year high a couple years ago. I made many classic beginner mistakes (thinking a high P/E was great was probably one of the strangest. But at least ISRG turned out well) However, it is nice to recover from losses even if they are unrealized. I'm celebrating now, because it could be red again tomorrow:) just around a 1% gain right now.

I will make a prediction unrelated to investing. I believe that it will be a good year for gardening. The Reedy River just roars over the falls.  Not a drought this spring, I think!

Wishing everyone here a year of personal growth. Know more than you did the year before. Take care!

I see you are back at work.

Hope you had a nice Holiday.

Good Luck in "staying green" in 2010.

Thanks, Teacherman, It was a pleasant holiday. We were able to do most of our favorite traditions like listening to my husband read Dicken's Christmas Carol over a period of five evenings.

Also, I got a home improvement project done. We redid my hall, the wallpaper was peeling so it was time for a change. After scraping the wallpaper off which took about 3 days, we painted the hall and did a sponge treatment with two shades of gold. The walls look great! Now we have a gallery for my husband's black and white photographs.

shopgirl456, Thanks for the good wishes. Have a great year! I hope that your investments do well also. Stay warm!
