A matter of energy?

March 07, 2012 – Comments (6) | RELATED TICKERS: GE

Hi There.

I was wondering if my fellow Fools would be willing to pontificate on some concepts that have been running through my head recentely?

A- All living things are composed of units of energy.

B- Energy cannot be destroyed, only move forward.

C- Where said energy winds up...?

Thanks for any replys, I'll lay low on this question since my rudimentory understanding of physics would not do justice to the reply.

As an aside is anyone else getting constant "oops" messages when you click on links. Or that "this link doesnt exist" message when in fact it does?

As for energy the best thing I can say is we as a society  NEED it.  In the long run invest in it.

Thanx  awalle

Yes, I've been having the same problem, also the problem where if you click on new posts the server sends you to blogs from a week ago.

Now that you mention it the only energy stock I currently own is GE, and thats more of a conglomerate. Might have to look into that.

I know that was a broad question I posted above, but I was hoping some of our science minded Fools would be able to tell me if my thinking on the subject was correct.

Well I will pass on any esoteric response heheh,  but you really might want to check out other energy stocks besides GE (which I also own).

A few I can direct you to, BBEP (solid oil/gas producer), PVR (more of a midstream stock and royalty coal company with a solid yield), SDRL (might want to wait for a pullback to mid $30s, or not - strong deepwater rig company that actually has locked in many of the port yards for future builds), even ATPG as a pure speculation play (once its Clipper wells are connected for production the shorts will scramble to cover- 3rd Quarter my guess).

Well, my husband is the one who collaborated on a high school physics textbook not me, but I know that entropy enters in there somewhere-not every form of energy is equally useful. Nuclear waste still has energy in it, but how to unlock it and use it safely is the question?

As for where energy ultimately winds up--it is recycled into dogs and small humans :)

My energy investment is SE which is a natural gas pipeline company. I consider DUK to be an energy investment although it is a utility.  In a stretch GLW is also an energy investment  because it makes filters to lessen pollutants from energy use.

awallejr thanks I set up a watchlist on yahoo to follow all the stocks mentioned, I've been following ATPG for almost 2 yrs now (or whenever porte first mentioned it:) Really should have pulled the trigger when it dipped below six.
