A war I'd like to see waged...

October 22, 2012 – Comments (3)

Anyone who really knows me, knows that  these wars  in  the middle east  are a  total waste.

Are all  wars  a total waste ???

Personally  I'd  like  to see a real war  waged  against killers  such  as  cancer

killers  such as  poverty

killers  such as the bogus  war  on  drugs.

And  according to most statistics the number one killer  heart disease.

I'd love to see all  the bogus  resources  wasted  on  the war  on drugs, instead  used  elsewhere,   we need to see drug use and  abuse  as what it really is,  a medical  and psychological  problem  not  a  criminal  one  in which  we have  all the  issues  under 1900's prohibition  compounded  by a  thousand fold  times  another whatever  amount,  but  hopefully  you get my point.

Most of  us  were not alive when our  United States  passed the  volstead act and  eventually prohibiton  with the  18 th  amendment   nor  when  some of the madness ended with the 21 th amendment  making  alcohol  once again one of the most toxic,  yet legal  drugs.

Imagine  if  we  had  instead  spent  that money  to cure the social ills or  used it to fund medical  care.

We   cured Polio,  we   also sent  men  to the moon.

Where  are  the  I  have  a  dream (dreams).

Dreams that we may love one another,  not because  of  some fear of eternal tormentation or damnation  in the next life, not because of the expectation of some type payment in return,  but  because  it  is the right and best thing to do to find happiness and purpose.

Now as to some stock advice.

Buy  low

Sell high

I  ran away high,  so I wouldn't come home low.

I like the idea of a war against the war against drugs.

"Have you ever noticed that the only metaphor we have in our public discourse for solving problems is to declare war on it? We have the war on crime, the war on cancer, the war on drugs. But did you ever notice that we have no war on homelessness? You know why? Because there’s no money in that problem. No money to be made off of the homeless. If you can find a solution to homelessness where the corporations and politicians can make a few million dollars each, you will see the streets of America begin to clear up pretty damn quick!"

Ryan,   homelessness  is   a  world-wide  problem.

Many  homeless  are  the dis-advantaged,  many have  mental illnesses, and or  have  had  some traumatic  event  in their  lives  that  have  pushed  them over  the  edge  from being someone  who  had a  more stable place in society  to  becoming  homeless.

Whether  it  was  losing someone special, becoming  addicted to drugs,  or  maybe  having some physical, mental, and or  some type of sexual  abuse  in  their lives.   Whether it was  waking up one day  and  having  a  rough day  at  work, having  not  secured enough of  an income or asset amount  to  afford to maintain  a   domicile.

Sadly,  many millions  of  dollars  are funneled  from taxes  and tax-payers  that  are  suppose  to be used to combat  this,  however  as with many organizational  ineptitude  and  corruption  ~  theft  by  conversion ~   and  out-right  fraud and or not  caring  or  giving  a  sh!t ~   we  have  millions  that  can  be  classified  as  homeless.

Its  almost like the  never wanting  to end cycle  of violence ~  cycle  of  life  where it seems  that  the  road  to hell  has been paved  with good intentions.

When  I was  in  the  Czech  Republic,  a  local  young  physically fit attractive  lady,  pointed out to me while we were riding  on  the train out  of  Germany to the Czech Rep  that  near  the  rivers  and  under  the bridges  is  where  the  homeless in Europe  reside.   I  almost  didn't  want to believe it.
