Much thanks to outoffocus for improving my blogging skills.

Former A-B exec claims brewer encourages "fratparty" atmosphere.

ST.LOUIS(AP) - A former Anhheuser-Busch executive who was the company's top-ranking woman has sued the brewer claiming it encourages a "frat party" atmosphere and pays women less in salary and bonuses than men.

Francine Katz, former V.P of communications and consumer affairs for the maker of Bud, Bud Light and other beers, filed the lawsuit Monday in state Ct in St Louis.

In a statement, the brewers current V.P of communications, Terri Voht, said the company believes Katz was compensated fairly and the lawsuit is unjistified.

"Our company firmly believes in treating all employees fairly and values the difference of all employees, specifically prohibiting any form of discrimination based on a person's gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, sexual orientation, national orgin, disability or other prohibited factors" Voght said.

The lawsuit describes a corporate culture that blocked womens advancement with a "locker room" and "frat party" atmosphere Women were excluded from informal social networks, and the company kept "gender related classification systems for compensation that disatvanteged Women.

In 2002, she was promoted to replace John Jacob, who retired. Her lawsuit claimed that while Jacob earned $1.25 mil in salary and bonuses in his final year, she she was paid a combined $500K-$300K in salary and a $200 K in Bonus. By 07 Katz was still earning 46% of what Jacob had earned in 01.

Just to be safe might put in a stop-loss.

I'm crushed...she is only making 500K a year.  I'm betting they could fire her and break up her salary amongst several folks who are currently unemployed and desire a job.  Trade one for several.

And what is wrong with a frat party atmosphere?  Some of my fondest memories of college involve frat parties.  Sheesh, what is the world coming to...she gets paid 500K and gets to relive college almost every day...sounds like the life to me.

Disclaimer...sarcasm is difficult to capture on the internet, so before someone gets their panties in a bunch...the above two paragraphs are dripping with sarcasm.

Fool on...
