BREAKING: Uprising flares in Libyan cities

Army vehicles reportedly seized by protesters in Benghazi as demonstrations against Muammar Gaddafi's rule escalate.

News of the rising death toll came as residents of Benghazi, Libya's second largest city, reported renewed gunfire from security forces in the city.

Sadiq al Ghiryani, a Libyan religious leader, told Al Jazeera a "massacre" was under way in the city and troops firing shots were mostly mercenaries.. Kamal Hudethifi, a judge, described the killings as "ethnic cleansing".

The Reuters news agency said at least 50 people had been killed in Benghazi since Sunday afternoon.

The problem with ordering your police to fire on protestors is the backlash when you lose is much greater.

Unconfirmed reports have angry mobs butchering government forces.

It ain't gonna pretty in Libya.

I just wonder how far this unrest is going to spread. Could it be that the common people are finally waking up to the unprecedented spread between the haves and the have-nots? I wonder if it could spread all the way to the heartland of Amerika, like Wisconsin and Ohio. Who knows; it could even lead to the overthrow of President Bernanke. Ironic if Amerika were the last to become a real democracy. Soon, the world "leaders" are going to run out of places to hide. Maybe Texas or Kennebunkport?

Saudi Arabian King To Populace: 'Don't Even Think About It'

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA—In a televised speech addressing the pro-democracy protests currently sweeping across the Middle East, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia reiterated that the people of his country should not even think about it. "Get it out of your heads right now," the king said in a firm, unwavering tone of voice while staring directly into the camera. "I'm serious. Whatever you are thinking about doing, it’s not gonna end up good for you. Trust me." The king then widened his eyes, paused, and added, "No."
