Alstry understands your anger toward Alstry

May 20, 2009 – Comments (11)

And Alstry knows it is not because he is such a good CAPs player....even after just losing a ton of points!!!!!  or due to his excessive humility and kind civil behavior.....or because he is maybe the only CAPS player to be cited in the New York Times.....NO......he knows none of the above.

It is clear that much of the anger is directed at Alstry is because Alstry conveys the TRUTH and supports it with link after link after link.  After link.  And Alstry understands your anger because he reveals time and time again that you are being lied to or mislead by the mainstream press, Wall Street, and Washington.  Alstry understands your frustration at feeling helpless and such a feeling can lead to anger.

Here is a quick example...there is little doubt NOW that America is in a defined by a 10% decline in GDP.  Here are a few headlines, clips and snipits:

the Air Transport Association said late Tuesday. April passenger revenue declined even more rapidly, deteriorating 18%, the trade group said. For March, the latest data available, cargo traffic plunged 21% as measured by revenue ton miles...

Ann Taylor Q1 same-store sales down 30.7%

Deere projected sales to be down about 19% for fiscal 2009 and down about 26% for the third quarter.

Toll Brothers Inc. said Wednesday its homebuilding revenue dropped by 51 percent in its fiscal second quarter

We are now seeing it everywhere...Autos, Airlines, Builders, Banks, Construction,......and that is just the ABCs...revenues down MASSIVE double digits and we are being told that we may have a soft landing and almost out of a RECSSION?  If industry after industry revenues are down serious double have to have a pretty good idea it is not a recession....IT IS A DEPRESSION. The entire Auto industry is DOWN 50%, New Home Contruction is DOWN 80%.  We could go on and on with industry after industyr DOWN significant double digits. We are seeing over 600K weekly first time job loss claiims week after week after week and we are being told that unemployment is under 10%?

My goodness, tax revenues are DOWN material double digits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to wake up is about time you get should be really angry because under the current direction....things are going to get a lot worse......A LOT WORSE!!!!!!!!!!

You don't want to believe Alstry...DON'T!!!!!!  But don't lie to yourself.....go back a look at Alstry's blog for the past year and see what he was saying at the time and compare it to the Kool Aid serving media and Wall Street.  You think you are angry now.....just wait until you see how right that arrogant prick really was!!!!!  And you should get angry....really is our country and our childrens' future.

It is right now being flushed down the toilet....under the current direction.....isn't it about time we start changing direction and move away from a Zombie Bank Zombulator policy???

If you are angry at Alstry you are angry at the truth.....It's about damn time!!!!!!!!

Now direct that anger to something productive........and that is how investors help directing them in the RIGHT direction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another "I Told You So": Pensions

Beware folks....

May 20 (Bloomberg) -- Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp.’s deficit tripled to $33.5 billion in the past six months as companies canceled retirement plans in the U.S. recession, the head of the government-owned corporation said.

About $11 billion is for “completed and probable terminations” of company plans and $7 billion is from an increase in interest rates that boosted liabilities, Vince Snowbarger, the acting PBGC director, said in written testimony to be delivered today to the Senate Special Committee on Aging.

Dateline: May 1st, 2008, over a year ago.

You are at risk of losing half or more of your retirement income on a permanent basis.

If your pension fund was sold supposedly-safe securities that in truth are not (like, for example, mortgage-backed CDOs and bonds) without the fact that these loans were largely comprised of "liar loans" being disclosed up front to your pension-fund managers, you should not be the ones who eat those losses.

Whistling past the graveyard, you folks be.

I try to warn people, but most of America would rather listen to American Idol.

Let me be (again) quite explicit: The PBGC is almost certain to run out of money.  Into this environment it will not be able to address this without whacking on your so-called "benefits."  Your so-called "safe" pensions aren't - not with your private employers and unions, and definitely not with the PBGC and government.

You have been robbed; we are now arguing only over whether you're going to take it quietly like a good little sheep or whether you will do something about it.

The math is never wrong.

Disclosure: Short both Democrats and Republicans

alstry, has the GDP actually declined by 10% yet?  im not trying to disagree because im a sheeple or just feel like attaking alstry (which seems to be the favorite past time of some TMF devotees), i just don't know.  you make the above statement, but then the following figures you provide, although they are frighteningly bad, do not include how much the GDP has actually declined, which, based on your definition (or the definition, I dont know) of a depression, is the only piece of data that would validate your claim that the US is in fact in a depression.

ps congrats on the NYT (sort-of) shout out...thats pretty cool.

But.... but.... your information comes from these very same places!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  If you quote sources as proof of your conclusions, and then say the sources are the problem............THAT'S A PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG... I'm having a meltdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (It's been unseasonably warm where I'm at lately)

my sources come from a variety of places....some of my links are as you describe, others are from other blogs, or foreign press, or company releases directly, occasaionally legal filings and much of what I learn is from personal contacts that never get linked.

In the end, it is all about delivering the truth....and if the truth pisses people off.....then they should get pissed off.

10% decline in GDP is the generally accepted definition of Depression.  By the time you wait for the government to actually report may be too late.

Why do exclamation points and question marks bother some readers so much?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!  And why does referring to oneself in the third person tick people off????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I don't really get it, but to each his own.

I know we are being lied to, deceived and manipulated.  That the gubment is conning the people.  Now, when Alstry makes sweeping generalizations like calling everyone "sheeple" or saying everyone needs to "wake up" I hesitate to give the post a rec, but I do anyway.  You know, I say, who gives a sh!t about a CAPS blog post anyway??????!!!!!!!!!

All IMHO.  (Does the H stand for honest or humble????????????)
