When AMERICA is bankrupt.....who gets the right to consume?

And we were all responsible FOR THE BANKRUPTCY because we elected these people and said nothing while we simply started at the ticker....

Are you an American?  I am.....and an attorney with a strong background in finance.

America is bankrupt.....As an American....I am bankrupt too as I am a subset of America.

Without America....there is no currency.....no private property......no corporations.....

as these are all byproducts of a solvent soverign nation.

It is just that this issue has never been addressed since the Civil War....when the Confederacy Lost.

No, they aren't. Gold is a currency (as is silver). Any commodity that someone else is willing to take in exchange for their work product is a valid money. No soverign nation necessary.

"Property does not exist because there are laws, but laws exist because there is property." --Frédéric Bastiat

Private property is a fundamental fact. Laws (supposedly) protecting private property are a secondary construct. Without state-created-and-imposed laws, we would each still claim what is 'ours' and conflicts over what each claims would still be solved by applying logical rules of private property. No slavemasters needed or wanted.

You're right about corporations. It takes a privilege-granting force-weilding gang to set up a protected-from-liability fellow-but-subservient gang.

But I still don't see how I, who never signed the Constitution, am morally bound by the debt of those operating under it. Practically, yes, as I am incapable of resisting government force used to make me pay that debt, but morally? No. They contracted it, not me, they spent it, not me, they owe it to the Treasury holders, not me, but it's my hide they'll take it out of. The federal government is in debt and most of the states are in debt, but I am only in my own debt. This sucks. Happy Birthday to my daughter; sorry Daddy's in a bad mood, now.

You can claim all you want....until someone or some entity points a gun to your head.

There are three forms of money:

1.  LOVE

2.  TRADE/Currency/Gold

3.  FORCE

All three have their place in history....and will serve as money in the future.

But interestingly enough I work as a petroleum (drilling) engineer. Drilling a well requires a high level of technical expertise as well as many people on the rig to do various operations...

and we are seeing rigs becoming more automated. its not far fetched to see a fully automated rig in 10 years....so your CONSTANT talk about how things are evolving to requiring less people isnt entirely wrong....but sheesh man I dont think its all doom and gloom gun to your head type deal

I am not doom and gloom...actually the opposite.

If we don't have to work...we can party all the time...party all the time....one of Eddie Murphy's more embarrassing moments.

My concern is how we adjust to the change....

As far as LOVE is money:

If money is simply the means to obtain the production of another...whether good or service.

and LOVE is the unconditional giving of a good or service to another.

Then LOVE is Money.

You can FORCE another for their physical affection.

You can TRADE/Pay another for their phsical affection.

You can obtain the same out of LOVE.

You can exchange physical affection for anything you want.
