SockMarket, hope things are going well for you. I recently had to move from one desk to another along with everybody else where I work so it's been somewhat chaotic.

God gave us the earth to use, not abuse. Looking for ways to sustain resources and lessen or even remove pollution is stewardship in action. Humans + earth, not humans vs. earth.

However, I will admit to skepticism on some green ideas some of which seem more politically driven than anything else. CFLs which are more energy efficient have mercury which is bad for humans, but incandescents don't. At least there are companies out there making energy efficient bulbs which don't use mercury.

Also I'm not about to promote getting rid of air conditioning to save energy costs like Stan Cox proposed. Lack of air conditioning would be bad for those with heart conditions and severe allergies and very uncomfortable for many who live below the Mason Dixon line.

Well, enough said. The environment is anything but a simple topic, but ignoring the issues certainly won't make them go away :).

Take care!

Hi Lemon,

things are going quite well for me. School seems very easy here and life is good.

Id agree as to why we have the earth.

I think some green ideas can be harmful, esp the ones you talked about but I think that for the most part they do generally help. Things like less pollution, more reuse of materials, less waste, etc. seem like no brainer ideas for the environment and helping to beat global warming through their use seems almost like an added bonus.

Of course all this requires making pretty serious changes to our lives, which makes me doubt anything serious will happen.

Hope all is well on your end and your crazy office move is over.

How is the south this time of year?

Just now got around to checking "back blogs."

Other than avoiding certain hallways with construction going on and locating certain minor misplaced items, the worst of the office move is over. Since I help in three departments--Call Center, Files, and Trade Books--and all three were involved, it was somewhat complicated. Variety is one thing--chaos is another :).

Today the weather is practically artic for down here considering that it was 80 a few days ago. This morning was 45 degrees-- brrr!--so I'm wearing a warm sweater.

Somehow lethargy is all too common in politics and in life. Global indifference.

Very glad that college is going well for you. What courses are you taking currently?

I am sorry your move is so hectic. I hope its over now!

And thats about how cold it is here now, its supposed to get a bit colder tomorrow though--and snow 9" (or first snow of the year!) over the next 3 days.

Agreed as to the lethargy. One of my roomates was joking earlier with me that most people "don't vote and then complain" about alot of issues in their lives the government causes. (btw I just got my first ever ballot in the mail. I am very excited!!)

Im currently taking a light load: British History, Cultural Anthropology, Social Problems (basically Sociology 101), and Math Tools for Economists 2

Do you think it would be better to talk over email? if so send me something (footballbdash@yahoo.com)
