Anger Rising as Money Evaporates

September 24, 2009 – Comments (3)

Crowds gathering in the quad at University of California, Davis, are chanting, "The students united will never be divided."

Professors, students and workers at all 10 University of California campuses today are staging protests, rallies and pickets to draw attention to the effect of state budget cuts on the university.

Originally planned by professors angry that they've been forbidden from taking their furloughs on teaching days, the rallies have snowballed. Professors have been joined by workers locked in labor negotiations with the university and students upset about a proposal to raise fees by 15 percent in the spring and another 15 percent in the fall.

The Link has PHOTOS.

Just as Alstrydomous prognosticated while many of you Alstrybated.....the protests have begun all across America in 9.09.  We saw hundreds of thousands gather in Washington a few weeks ago.  Anger is everywhere and growing, stress and frustration is will only grow as money runs out  of the job will be to keep you cool my fellow Fools, it will only get worse, MUCH WORSE.

Rising costs, evaporating wages, increasing taxes, jobs being slashed, dollar crashing,....all symptoms of MOAP

Never fear when Alstrydomous is are prepared as the show begins now....9.09.

AMERICA LIQUIDATING TO RAISE CASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the California economy roared in the 1990s and tax revenues poured into a treasury overseen by Gov. Pete Wilson, the state laid plans for a series of new office buildings in Sacramento to spare itself from paying rent to other landlords.

Barely a decade later, the Schwarzenegger administration is launching a process to sell many of the same buildings that were originally touted as long-term money savers for taxpayers. The goal today is more immediate: pay off debt and steer cash into the state's depleted general fund. It's among a variety of short-term crisis solutions that include selling surplus state property, moves also being undertaken in cash-strapped Arizona.

Who coulda known America would be running out of money in 9.09????  Who?? Who???  Now our states are dumping buildings as we bail out the banks with trillions and give the bankers billions in bonuses?????

And think...there are some Fools that really believe that things are getting better???  Kool Aid still being served in 9.09.

Now the liquidations are just beginning....what some think as the bottom....Alstry views as the beginning.

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing will lay off an additional 230 city workers by Oct. 2.

The workers will come from the Detroit Department of Transportation, as expected. They'll also come from the Coleman A. Young International Airport, the Cable Department, the Mayor’s Office and the departments of public works, lighting, recreation and health.

DDOT is to take the biggest hit — 113 drivers are to be let go. That number was publicized last month, after Bing said he would trim bus routes.

The workers to be laid off are in addition to the 436 workers who have lost their jobs since Bing took office in May.
