In at least one meeting, Apple described future television technology that would respond to users' voices and movements, one of the people said. Such technology, which Apple indicated may take longer than some of its other ideas, might allow users to use their voices to search for a show or change channels.

I recall similar comments from many prognosticators regarding the iPad...'so, it has the same functionality as an iPhone, but it's bigger. Who wants that?'

Until I see what an Apple TV can really do, and how the user interface functions, I won't make a bet on its success. But, I will point out that many a commentator has wound up looking quite the fool by assuming the success of an Apple product resides solely in its specs.

Yeah, SIRI has gotten no end of press for doing stuff that my windows phone was doing for a year too... Apple runs a great scam. Steal an idea. Tell everyone you invented it, and watch them line up.
