As MORE Want To Consume

June 11, 2011 – Comments (7)

Expect more conflicts over natural resources.

Up until recently, only a small percentage of the world's population consumed most of the world's resources. As Industrial Growth spreads around the world, we have a much larger population chasing a static amount of resources.

Unless we change our consumption habits, humanity will fight over who gets the right to consume.

Sempai, just as an aside, China and Vietnam have played this game before. In 1979 they had a 38-day war when China invaded. It is believed that China lost 7,000 to 9,000 troops, while Vietnam had 20,000 troops killed (with 3-5 times that number of civilians killed).

Contrast that with 11 years of war in Afghanistan and nine years of war in Iraq. The numbers of U.S. troops killed in each theater are 1,615 and 4,460 respectively.

In a fresh fight between the socialist Asian brothers, one could expect a one week battle exceeding all of our casualities in Afghanistan and Iraq. Let's just say they don't care about small-diameter bombs nor medals for showing restraint.

China is facing some serious consumption contraints right now.

Inflation is out of control....and still most are NOT participating in the "prosperity."

China must change consumption behavior quickly...especially with a population of 1.8 Billion with India on its tails.

Or as Alstymous says occasionally, simply use its military to start taking resources from others.

My guess is after this whole mess plays out...natural resources will become the property of the globe and not nations or individuals.

Cloud Based Digital Functioning really eliminates the need for geographic control.....

Udder World is rapdily evolving into this is amazing how we can adapt, the only question now is what will be the path to such adaption.

It is a strange time indeed when MASS human consumption of natural resources is the ultimate form of terrorism against the present and future generations.

Expect a Carbon Tax based on the new science.

Something i found somewhere....the beggining and the end of this fragment was not there, but it would seem that there on that planet an attempt was made to introduce a new perfect economic doctrine based on a science about the 'climate' and how a new Carbon Tax would be the answer to it all.
