‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’: 30 years later, a stuntman’s memories
Not related to investing? Okay, I agree. But I am a huge fan of the first Indiana Jones movie that I could not help myself. As a kid I remember watching a behind the scenes show about how they did the stuntwork for the movie, found it fascinating. If I did not have an aversion to pain I would have liked to have given this line of work a try. :)
In an attempt to redeem this post, make it relatable to investing, I have devised the following:
Investing lessons from the first Indiana Jones movie:
1) Sometimes, even when dealing with a trusted company you will get a raw deal.
Throw me the idol. No time to argue! Throw me idol, I'll throw you the whip!
2) It always pays to do a little more DD.
If they knew we were here, they would've killed us already.
3) Don't let arrogance stand in the way of a well thought decision.
You can't do this to me, I'm an AMERICAN.
4) Trust your gut.
I got a feeling I'm not the first woman to travel with these pirates.
5) If nothing has changed to the fundamentals of your investment don't panic in a downturn.
Marion, don't look at it. Shut your eyes, Marion. Don't look at it, no matter what happens!
