Aug 22, 2014 Benchmark Investing (BI) Selections
There is but one stock to discuss this week. However, I made no changes to my portfolio. Here is a snapshot of this week’s activities.
This week’s candidates:
PDCO (Patterson) http://caps.fool.com/Ticker/PDCO.aspx– Patterson is continuing to buy back a substantial amount of their own shares. This share buyback is good news, however it has also masked the underling subpar business performance. There is no apparent catalyst to drive this stock higher in the short term, but it remains a long term opportunity if/when equipment purchases come back stronger. Meanwhile, the 2+ percentage dividend helps a bit, but I really need to see a resurgence in business strength to hold much longer. Decision: Hold
Every week a fresh set of company specific financial data, stock prices, and economic information are evaluated. This information is analyzed using Kenneth Lee's stock selection process as described in “Trouncing the Dow". Individual stocks are considered based on their own historical benchmark valuation. This “rule based” approach has a proven track record and has yielded superior results in the past.
Each week a broad set of new stocks are considered to be bought, sold, or held. The results of these decisions are then shared publically here on this board.
