Awaiting Apology from CODY & Street.Com

November 09, 2009 – Comments (7) | RELATED TICKERS: F

I will be here silently awaiting an Apology from www.TheStreet.Com telling investors before (F) rallied 10.7% last week and perhaps another 4% today that everyone invested in (F) should go against the grain and SELL their stake.

I will be here silently awaiting an Apology from CODY of FOX BUSINESS telling investors before (F) rallied 10.7% last week and perhaps another 4% today that everyone invested in (F) should dump out of the (F) completely and find another stock because the debt burdon is too big and (F) added a Dept. of Energy loan for their electric battery powered Car technology plant.

No.... Not an apology directed to ME..... Rather an apology should be directed towards any investor that sold/dumped their stake in (F) solely based on the advice of www.TheStreet.com or CODY of Fox Business.

It would be the right thing to do considering the likelihood (F) could exceed $8.86 before the year is out and produce a new 52-week high.

It traded as high as $8.07 today..perhaps higher.... These gains + possible future gains are not going to be ones enjoyed by those who SOLD (F) last week off their advice.

Neither CODY  nor www.TheStreet.com  are stock analysts or financial advisors and most people know not to take their opinions beyond that of an opinion.

But inexperienced investors jumping on (F) after Q2 earnings report may not realize that.

Oh and JIM CRAMER (mad money) does apologize and admit to being wrong when he is wrong.

So CODY.... MAN UP!

The very first rule that novice investors should learn is to perform their own due diligence and not rely upon commentary (whether via television talking heads, online investment sites, etc) in making their investment decisions.  Apologies don't erase losses.

You've got to be kidding. In that case, give us apologies for every negative CAPS pick that you have made.

They weren't neccessarily even wrong in their thesis... just because the stock rallied does not change the long-term fundamentals. I have not researched the stock enough to have an opinion, but I would never demand an apology from someone who told me to get out of something because of legitimate fundamental questions whether the stock rallied or not- cmon now-

Prodigy16.....   My CAPS picks have nothing to do with my BLOG POSTS...

I don't expect people to invest in stocks solely based on my CAPS picks....   Only my BLOG posts...

And.. When I am wrong I admit my mistakes...

Such as (AAI) Airtran and (MTXX) as the most recent mistakes I've made on this blog.   AAI actually did well after my recommendation for a month or so.... Problem is that I think an earnings report has shot the share price down due to foreward negativity on travel earnings.

As for MTXX....  I may be wrong on the share price action but I remain invested in MTXX and have actually increased my stake in that ticker..

Nonetheless I apologized on MTXX very recently.... Made  not of my mistake with MTXX back when I recommended ATVI at $10 handle.

My recommendation for ATVI @ $10 handle should have already made people money....

So give me a break... I ain't no Hypocrit here so quit pretending I am just to defend some Website and some Dude with a Long Haircut.

Clarification...

I am still VERY VERY  BULLISH  on Airtran (AAI)....

Share Price is beaten up for the time being but this one seems like a tremendous investment within a troubled sector as there are numerous competitor stocks whose share prices are significantly worse off than AAI year to date.

So  I LAUGH in the face of your acusation that I don't apologize for my picks/recommendations....  I always do....  In fact I even openly remind people NEVER TO TRUST MY ADVICE..

I repeatedly make fun of myself on my own BLOG just as a way to remind people that what I say isn't research.... I just say stuff to get people thinking about a stock....and seeing within their own research if I am right or wrong.

I've been quite a bit right on stocks like DPS, F, ATVI, WHR, SKX, and so on of late.

(VITC) isn't the only stock I outperformed just for *kicks* and *giggles*

My CAPS portfolio can't be a recommendation to buy a stock when a large chunk of it is just "science experiement" stuff or "who cares how long can it go?" type fascinations.

With VITC, I wanted to see how deeply in the RED my pick on that would get if I outperformed it...

So... Don't even THINK I need to apologize for my CAPS portfolio when I don't treat that seriously at all....  Just my BLOG posts.... Just my BLOG posts..

I made a BIG deal out of (DPS), (F), (ATVI) most recently and these stocks are doing more than OK.

Add to the FOX commentary that Ford received an upgrade and two price target raises this last week and the Street comment seems out of tune.

I agree with the others: do your own homework, watch the market for a while before getting in and follow what your own experience has taught you.  I have been burned by my own naivte a lot, so I remind myself of the principles that could help me prosper.

Ford is not out of hot water yet, but I see the stock pressing past $9 before December.  2010, though, is the big recovery year for them.  Once they restock their inventories with a catalogue of solid new offerings, buyers will show up for the fuel-efficient, reliable, stylish vehicles.
