Yesterday in a news conference our President said that he is going to take personal responsibility for the BP oil spill and clean up. My response is: You pompous fool! This is political suicide. Your poll numbers are in the gutter over this mess because people mostly blame your inaction for making this mess worse than it could have been. Now you are basically saying “my bad” and claiming you are going to fix the worse man made disaster in the history of our country? You can’t invoke Bob the Builder and will this to happen like you did in November of 2008. You are going to fail, fail, fail. And it is going to cost you your job and make you an even bigger laughing stock in the eyes of future generations.

  

At the same news conference our President said he is going to make us part of the clean energy movement, make us competitive with the Chinese with regards to developing new renewable energy resources. I say: Good. Get it done. This needs to be approached with all the vigor of the Manhattan Project. Take from the budgets of failing programs like the “War on Drugs” and redirect them to this idea by declaring a “War on Fossil Fuels”. I also like the idea of offering prize money to individuals and companies that successfully develop technology to achieve this goal. If this works, Barak, you may yet leave a legacy that will make your little girls proud.

I can't believe I misspelled his name! Arrrrrrrgh! See, this is what happens when you spend the morning goofing off, let time creep up on you. The next thing you know you have ten minutes to get ready to leave for a meeting, fail to proof read your blog on something that is really just self serving tripe. Oh, the best thing is I left the house late because I was looking for a portfolio I already put in the car last night. Anybody need a cup of stupid? I have plenty to spare.

"Barak" is the correct spelling for one of Israel's fighting men. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges+4&version=KJV This Barak is an early example of a man who valued the wisdom and courage of a woman.  He said he wouldn't go to battle without Deborah. She must have been some woman!

I always assumed the President's first name was a variant spelling of one of these two Bible names.

Thank you, Cato. I'm really looking forward to a break. Also the newlyweds are back in town for a short while before they head to the UK and they have invited us to dinner Saturday night. So I think the weekend is looking good.

I just found out the Prince Edward is in SC and he was only 3 blocks away from where I work, but I wasn't invited to meet him. Oh well, someday, I will meet some nobility. A duke would be good enough. After all, you never know who's on CAPS:) I've decided to be content with my plebian roots. The paparazzi don't bother me.
