BC Premier Christy Clark Gives Hope to Taseko Mines

To those who are bullish on Taseko Mines (which includes myself) and believed that the Prosperity Mine still had some hope, this Globe and Mail article should be interesting:

Premier Christy Clark has put the Prosperity Mine atop her federal-provincial agenda, pressing Prime Minister Stephen Harper in their first meeting to get on with the project previously scuttled by the federal regulator on environmental grounds.

Ms. Clark indicated Tuesday she was not backing down in her bullish support for the open-pit copper and gold mine, although that enthusiasm generated anger from environmentalists when she laid it out during the campaign to become leader of the BC Liberals.

it sounds like Christy Clark plans to give the environmentalists a tough time and make them really work for their over zealous concerns. Its just a matter of time before our beautiful BC's natural resources are tapped in a similar way as they are in Alberta.

I am in favour with protecting our 1000 Year Old Growth Forest here on Van Isle around Claquot Sound,(Avatar Grove). It's an ancient rain forest.

With regards to Taseko Mines, yes they should be allowed to develop their gold & copper mine but with govt respect of protecting surrounding natural forest and water supplies.
