November 10, 2010 – Comments (5) | RELATED TICKERS: TTM , F , GM

With all the talk about the forthcoming GM IPO, Ford beating earnings estimates, Tesla going crazy, there is one stock being overlooked here in the USA.  Tata Motors has increased net profits by more than 10,000% !!  (from roughly $5M to $500M)

Here are the reasons they gave for this huge increase:

"Favorable macroeconomic conditions, good monsoons and good finance availability led to robust domestic demand during the quarter, resulting in volume growth across all segments," the company said.

In less than 2 years the stock has shot up from a low of $4 to more than $31 today.  Looks like they still have plenty of momentum, too.

Any naysayers out there?

If the profit in the comparable period of last year would have been around $5 would you have written something like this?

more than 10,000,000,000% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right - thanks port.  It was not my intent to dis the European auto-makers!  I agree that Fiat and VW are both worth a closer look as well.

Are you suggesting that net profits for those companies exceed what Tata is reporting? (and I would not mind a 10M% increase in my investment !!!!)

I like Blue Square Israel BSI because it is so much more than just a grocery store since it also has energy investments. It belongs to the highly volatile category of my portifolio.

Every now and then I pick a real lemon. I got BAC at $54 and sold @ $10. BAC was supposed to be a stodgy, reliable stock with a healthy dividend--was I ever wrong!
