Best new player

November 20, 2007 – Comments (8)

Small of yesterday i have been 7 days hottest player, 30 days hottest player and ... new player. I am proud. (grin)

I am going for the grand slam..7, 30, best new, top fool. But that last one is dauntingly far away! And i am aware that it will be very very difficult.

To recap: redthumbing financials since september was my main and most succesfull bet, redthumbing housing related stocks worked too, redthumbing the china bubble begins to succeed, greenthumbing gold is a succes, redthumbing retailers has yet to come good and greenthumbing health has failed.

fool on,

Congratulations on the sector bets turning out well for you.  The biggest test will be in the long-run how you fare, which may require a more company specific approach?  I'll be interested in seeing in the long-run how this all plays out, as there are other recent "hot" players such as yourself that have made a lot of progress making these sector bets.

Again, congratulations.

Congrats, Frans, on your outstanding success. You are a rocket on fire. Those sector plays were excellent bets. Thanks for making me a Favorite too. I see a lot of churn-and-burn in your picks; 533 picks in 2.5 months. Wow! I hope you can keep your score up with that kind of rapid fire selection. I simply do not have that kind of time, but I'm very glad to know someone that does --- you! Show us how to do it, seriously. Here's to your continued success!

i was having a good run in October, then November completely blew up my tech positions.

I had the financial shorts on, but I think I've had them on too long.  I'm expecting some short term strength in financials in Dec/Jan but looking to sell those before earnings season..
