As I brought to your attention a couple of days ago, a report from a Missour Fusion Center (fusion centers bring together law enforcement agencies and offer policy guidance) characterized Ron Paul supporters as domestic terrorists.

Well, take a deep breath everyone. The report has been killed, an apology has been issued, and now... there's some BLOWBACK.

The head of the Missouri Department of Public Safety has apologized to U.S. Rep. Ron Paul and two other former presidential candidates for a state law enforcement report linking militia groups to the candidates. State officials killed the report late Wednesday.

State Highway Patrol Superintendent James Keathley said, "Law enforcement officers require intelligence of the highest quality and the report in question does not meet that standard. For that reason, I have ordered (the agency) to permanently cease distribution of the report."

Keathley ordered a new process for overseeing intelligence reports, requiring the superintendent and director to review the content before they are sent to department.

But wait.... there's more......

Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder called Wednesday for Britt [public safety director] to be put on immediate administrative leave while the report is investigated. He supported calls for the director to be subpoenaed by the Missouri legislature to answer questions about it.

And more...

ALIPAC (Americans for Legal Immigration) is issuing a national advisory to all local, state, and Federal law enforcement agencies and officers, along with all DHS Fusion Centers, a warning against any reliance upon faulty and politicized research issued by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and Anti Defamation League (ADL).

"In the past, these groups have served a helpful role in America by providing information about racist and potentially violent groups like the KKK and Neo Nazis," said William Gheen. "Unfortunately, their mission has drifted into political efforts to paint almost any American or group who opposes their broader political agendas as being associated with racist or potentially violent groups just like what we saw in these scandalous MIAC documents in Missouri."

Hmmm.... sounds like the Nazi hunters have become Nazis themselves. Go figure.

Governor Jay Nixon is distancing himself..... er, running as fast as he can in the opposite direction.... from MIAC, SPLC and ADL:

"I was not governor when the MIAC was formed," Nixon said. "I was not governor, I did not hire any of the people there and nobody in my administration -- the director of public safety -- saw this stuff before it went out."

And, finally..... there's this.......

I find that rather ironic given the fact that apparently Brandon Middleton works for a department that is trying to make law abiding citizens out to be criminals.

Meanwhile a review of the Missouri Case Net website reveals that on May 19th, 2008 a warrant was issued for Brandon Middleton's father, Timothy E. Middleton for committing felony fraud against secured creditors and that his bond was set at $35,000.

Say it with me..... AMERICA...... F**K YEAH!!!!

What a surprise the police over stepping the law, I guess that's because they think that the law is only to be followed by civilians.  They can break it at will.  Pathetic that the people responsible aren't thrown in jail.  They probably get a promotion.  SCUM of the worst kind.

Good to know that they're backing away from something that completely messed up. There has been growing outrage about it and I think more media has been covering it... Good to know that outrage still matters... it shouldn't have happened to begin with though and it's disturbing.

That song from Team America World Police... LOL... cracks me up everytime.

Okay, aside from being a guy who wears a uniform (US Navy), was it the Cops who put out this report, or a bunch of suits in a cubicle?  Might be a good idea to ask things like that before jumping all over the guys it got sent to.
