Bungling, cover-ups define Japanese nuclear power

This story I found on Yahoo! by the AP.

I know that nuclear power is supposed to be, as touted by some, the savior of the world because it produces no CO2, reduces dependence on oil. But that only works if you have the right people in place with the right protocols and tools at hand to keep the genie in the bottle. After reading this I am shocked, SHOCKED!, that Japan, of all countries, has not been Yoshi on the spot about this. If they built electonics and cars with the same mentality that the power companies and regulators have they would have economy just behind Mongolia.

BTW: I am a big fan of geothemal power. There a number of companies out there you can buy that work in this field. I don't own any of them, have not researched them. But I believe the idea is sound and safe.

I read the whole thing, but I had really read enough at this point, "in a comfy relationship with government regulators".

Have you seen their government regulators? They are a sexy bunch. ;)

After reading the article you can tell it was written with a agenda. But that agenda does not outweigh the facts at hand.

Mongolia, I tell you!
