My colleagues and I recently made a presentation to a group of well-heeled and sophisticated investors out in warm, sunny California.

What these people came to hear about was the potential for investing in Canada, that big, far-away, snowy chunk of land at the top of the map. Few had anything but a peripheral understanding of just how large, vibrant and independent their northern cousin’s economy is, and what investment opportunities Canada has to offer.

I agree with your thesis and I'm overweight Canadian equities in real life, but the two tickers you linked seem to have underperformed the SPY over the past year, especially TSXV - at least that is the data TMF showed me as I moved the cursor over them.  

Other than mining companies and royalty trusts what are the sectors we should look at for the Canadian investment advantage?

The article was about the Canadian market in general, so I simply chose two tickers that reflected the Canadian market.

Of the nations with the highest scores for economic freedom, Canada stands out for also having a huge land mass (contrast Switzerland, HK, Singapore...)
