Capital Punishment - Southwest

Hey Fools,

After a harrowing stretch of wasting days/hours drawing really bad, predictable, unoriginal, unfunny comics, I felt compelled to go back to square one and re-think the idea of Capital Punishment. It is to satirize the things that most deserve ridicule, to offer a unique slant on current events in business, and to make investors think a little deeper about things. Design-wise, FWIW, I have a mad passion for black and white and think it strips way excess and puts the focus on the ideas.

The first is a comic about Southwest buying AirTran - hard to imagine anything funnier than low cost airline mergers. (ajdusted my tie there like Rodney) Here's that comic. As always, I greatly appreciate any thoughts.

Best,
DJR

PS - I figure there's a lot of creative, smart people around here and hope that developing this project openly on my CAPS blog is useful.

Good thing, Dan - you might have been violating the copywrited creation process of Family Circus..... :)

FanB - Yeah. He'd have to do a little yoga and then some to get airborne, no doubt. And his eyes are the pilots. And he's not much bigger than the waiters. So who rides in him, Lilliputians? Dang.

OandO - thanks! Still hunting the voice, look, style, vibe of this thing. Going through many ideas and drafts and whatnot...

The 1st sketch, FWIW...I thought this is kind of funnier, but SW doesn't seem upset all ready as this plane is, but confident. Anyway...
