China Will Rip Africa's Face Off (A Bibliography)

April 22, 2010 – Comments (1)

I hope folks get a chance to read this week's Global View column, Will China Rip Africa's Face Off?, which details how the relationship between China and the African continent is becoming increasingly mercenary-like.

Of course, if you're reading this blog, it may mean you want to dive deeper, so I thought I'd provide links to some of the primary sources used in the article -- all of which are recommended reading.

Here's China Daily talking about the country's arable land problem...using the same statistics it cited in 2005.

Here's the article about the suspension of reforestation efforts.

This is the must-read article about Millicom's experience in Senegal.

This is the troubling Global Times editorial about China's forthcoming aircraft carrier.

And though I linked to it just a few days ago, here again is the fabulous Atlantic piece about what's happening with Chinese road building efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Sleep well.
