GNC is IPOing this week. You gonan buy it?
I am looking at buying some Qihoo
If I buy any at all it will be a token amount (like 5 or 10 shares) just to get it on the radar. Most IPOs have the stock price fade as the lockup agreements end and the original folks start cashing out. At that point I will decide if this is a rocket or a depthcharge and act accordingly.
Thanks for pointing this out, I'd hadn't seen that yet.
right but in a bull market the price often goes straight up due to retail instor buying, an invstment banker floor, and a wave of upgrades before the lockup ends
I think we will have a correction at some point. Bull markets don't last forever and neither do bear markets.
Excuse my ignorance but what does Qihoo mean?
I've bought two IPO's in my life. First was Visa and that shot up rather nicely (until the crash of course). Second was CBOE that one I waited for the dust too settle and was able to get a lower price but not at the all time lows.
So I would say it totally depends on the Company.
Sorry if I'm oversimplifying things but thats my mantra for this year.
Looking at the deal a bit, the Ontario Teacher's Pension Plan (OTPP for short) will own about 4/5ths of the shares after the IPO and may be under some pressure to sell. This ones looks like a good one to wait a bit on.
Agreed. I reposted a blog from SeekingAlpha. No time to for me to comment today though. Probably get to it tomorrow.
HarryCarrysGhost: Qihoo, QIHU - Qihoo 360 Technology, another upcoming IPO.
My Mandarin is a bit rusty, so I'll check yahoo... : )
