If there's anything in the world I don't want to be in right now, it's coal. It's probably worth noting that insiders at some of the coal barons have been dumping their shares en masse recently. Also, of all forms of energy, it's the one most likely to be extinct in 50 years.
Thanks Sinch, you might be right, coal could be looking to have a great year. PCX is on my radar right now.
As for extenct forms of energy, sure 50 years from now it might be, same could possibly be said about oil. Should I trade in my common 9v battery now cause it might become extinct if someone invents something better in the next two decades?
50 years from now... eh.. bs..
It all depends on the valuation.
I bought into oil stocks and even green thumbed coal stocks on here during the bust phase. I certainly wouldn't buy coal stocks now that they are priced like a high-growth industry, though.
Fair enough. We could see significant growth this year and next. Depends on china..
If you think coal is more likely to be extinct in 50 years than, say, hydrogen fuel cells, you are insane. Other better candidates: wind, geothermal, and tidal.
