Come to Vegas or I will suffer

April 07, 2010 – Comments (20)

Allright, ye merry CAPsters.  I will be in Vegas thurs-sun.  Maybe a trip to Austin after that, long time away from home, homesickness and too much restaurant food and all of that .

Come to Vegas, or just drive across town if you live there (or i'll take a cab off the strip) and lets hang out.  I will buy for one and all!

If you don't come I will suffer as I will wind up going to a booby bar and for reasons I don't fully understand, I just don't like strip clubs most of the time.  Its a bachelor party and lets face it it will wind up at a strip club at some point.

I can deal with the strip club, and frankly thats fine.  Mostly it would just be really cool to put a picture with the words of the many people here who have impacted my life in the last 15 months.  And many, many of you have impacted my life, and in exchange a big fat booze tab or dinner tab would be a very small and inadequate repayment.  And, frankly, none of you want to come to where I live, and none of you ever will, because it is sucky and boring here.  lol

So come to Vegas I swear to all that is holy I will buy for one and all and that is a fact.  If I am lying and there is no Checklist and I don't buy, I will, I swear, post 100 straight times that permabears are godly and Alstry is prescient.

If you were to sweaten the pot by offering to pay for airfare and accomodations I just might take you up on it...

But then again I doubt I personally have had much of a positive impact  ;-s

ok, ok, if RJET goes to $20 I will buy airfaire and lodging for all CAPsters + dinner and club booze tabs, which are absurdly priced.

But otherwise come to vegas this wknd!  I will buy.

Brickity, never underestimate the impact that you can have on others here or in real life.  We are all important to others, and our thoughts and commentgs affect ohters much more than we really realize, I suspect.

Porte and Awall have had an impact on my life, and my families (son, longtime biz partner who is as much or more my family than anybody else, parents, all) by being bullish and giving me encouragement to stay in the market massively long while the whole rest of the blogosphere was epically negative.  Recently more bulls have shown up on CAPs but ...  but they are stil the minority i think.

Chris, that vid is awesome!

Coincidently I will be in Vegas in a few weeks.  Nice hotels are more affordable than I've seen them... ever.    I'll be at the Wynn.  I can't believe that it is actually affordable now.

Awesome video!

Enjoy the weekend for me in the LV, unfortuantely I can't make it this time. You'll have to have a drink in my honor! I lived in San Diego the last 6-7 yrs. and would regularily make it to Vegas (~every month or two) but I recently moved out of the region and life has gotten busy, thus my Vegas trips have been greatly reduced. Probably for the best, that place is ridiculous as you know! I can only handle a few nights there before I need to go back home and re-group. Ha!

Have a good weekend!

I don't actually have a room yet.  Everybody else is at planet hollywood, which is apparently 100% booked up for the next 6 days, which is amazing if you think abou tit.

I will bank on the fact htat I have blown enough money on booze in that town that someone will get me a room cheap and leave it at that.  If I can't find a room I will make friends and crash.

You should have been there during winter/spring 2009. You think things are cheap now? They were practically paying you to stay at thier hotels, it was unreal. Yes, things are still "cheap" now, but wow it was out of this world "cheap" a year ago. The palce was like a ghost town too, definietly strange for Vegas.

option!  in jan 2009 i was there, I corralled a maitre'd at Wynn and he, literally, begged me not to buy stock in casinos, saying Vegas was doomed.  It was the day that everything financial tanked 10%, like jan 19 or something, maybe jan 20, 09.

I bought a few weeks later on through april of 2009.  has gone well.

every cabbie I met, every bartender, everybgody was trying to sell me and longtime biz partner hookers, massages, dancers, drugs, you name it they were begging us to buy.

last time there in jan 2010, ... no offers for hookers for cabbies.

leading me to my current vegas theory:  the more criminal acts your cabbies offer you while in vegas, the worse business is

Checklist I think that is ChrisG himself! We found where he is hiding his gold...Bruce Willis' room man...

I wish I could be there with you...

But idea would be to put on a conference in Las Vegas in cooperation with Motley Fool. Easy to get to...potential for cheap rooms and meeting space, etc.

I have the idea all planned out. Just need a green light from TMF and I will pull it all together.

I haven't commented much but I have really enjoyed your blogs. If I didn't have a 3 year old kid and his Mom that would object to the trip I would make the drive to Vegas and attempt to drink enough to make the drive worth it. If you ever come to Santa Barbara I will buy you a drink.

I sure wish I could join you in Vegas.  We may be long lost twins - too much in common when reading your great blogs!

Even down to the shaved head thing! (my wife talked me into it - I'm thinking she didn't think I was ugly enough)

Have a great time.
