``I don't like this at all,'' said Tennessee Republican Zach Wamp, who now supports the measure. ``As a matter of fact I hate it. But we're out of options. Congress has to act."
Is this not the same thing Congress said when they originally voted for the Iraq War in fear that Saddam Hussien had weapons of mass destruction? Didn't these same Congressmen find out that there were no WMDs and that we started this war on false pretenses? Are we not still stuck in Iraq 5 years, Trillions of Dollars (with a T), and 4000 American Soldiers later when Bush promised we would be out in a matter of weeks (as well as cheaper oil)? Now we may have just sold our country down the river because "Congress had to act". Without any real thought. Without ANY due dilligence. With very LITTLE consideration of less expensive alternatives (except added pork). We just sold our country down the river to the very people who got us into this mess.
And guess what, we have no one to blame of ourselves. Does anyone know the meaning of "de ja vu" anymore? Does anyone learn ANYTHING from history? Or did you just sleep through the class. Since when did it make sense to solve a problem caused by too much debt with MORE debt?
And if anyone thinks that there are no NO CONSEQUENCES to all this debt the treasury is printing up, then I'm sorry but your head (like all of the government) is in the clouds. The other shoe WILL drop on the US Government Treasury debt. And when it does its going to be ugly.
