Congressman passes out pie
Representative George Miller sent a pie to each of the 23 members of the Senate Finance Committee, but not the whole pie. From the letter that accompanied each dessert:
"The attached pie chart (which is delicious!) represents Americans’ 401(k) retirement savings. Yet, nearly a third of the pie is missing. This missing slice represents what Wall Street takes from many 401(k) accountholders in hidden and excessive fees."
Miller has been lobbying hard for a provision to the so-called "tax-extenders" bill that will require better disclosure of 401(k) fees. Senate Democrats took the provision out, and Miller is fighting back. You can read more details here.
