Consumer Stocks and How to Cook a Turkey

The Motley Fool is running a 12 Days of Christmas article theme and the lead editor was foolish (Foolish?) enough to let me have day 5. Yes, a gold theme would have made sense, but I already had a theme. A consumer staples watchlist built from a shopping list.
Shopping lists for a holiday supper get turned into stock lists. Some charcoal gets Clorox (CLX) on the list, coffee means Smucker (SJM) joins the brew, beer brings BUD - you get the idea.
Only The Fool could bring you stock picks with one stand-out AND a hint on cooking a turkey all in one short page. I ran a Google search and proudly claim the first use of the term 'turkey cannon' on Fool.com. This piece was the most fun I've had writing since my TARPedBanks player snagged Bottom Fool.
If you haven't already stopped by, check out TMFUltraLong's 24 hours of Live Chat. Sean started answering stock and investing questions at 8 EST this morning and is going to keep tapping answers on the keyboard with only short breaks for 24 hours.
And, I'm still matching up to 500 of TMF's Foolanthropy dimes for comments on any of my articles or blog posts until the end of year.
Fool on!
