On April 05, 2011 NUTRA ingredients-usa released an article on Cyanotech's Astaxanthin

There are several allegedly negligent and reckless mistakes made by Cyanotech Management and its Board of Directors here 1) Cyanotech did nothing to leverage / capitalize on this article 2) No one knows about this article nor is it referenced on Cyanotech's already alleged shareholder/customer hostile website. Cyanotech management remains a tragedy 3) Any insider trades made since said non-formally non-fully disclosed claims may be in violation of (including but not limited to) SEC Rule 10b-5, Insider Trading Sanctions Act of 1984.
In this article, Cyanotech vice president, sales and marketing Bob Capelli, said: “Since astaxathin was called out on the Dr. Oz show by Dr. Joseph Mercola as the ‘number one supplement you’ve never heard of that you should be taking’, we’ve seen it [demand] skyrocket...While rival Fuji was increasing capacity in Sweden, it has just closed down its US astaxanthin facility in Maui, Hawaii, claiming its Swedish operation was more scalable, while fellow producer Yahama Motors has also closed its production facility in Japan citing “difficulties in achieving profitability” and “limited market size and future growth prospects”, pointed out Capelli.
“Fuji shut down its Maui facility earlier this year and we estimate that [Israeli astaxanthin producer] Algatechnologies [which is increasing capacity this year] can only produce half of what we can at our facility.
“The closure of these facilities [Yamaha, Fuji] further validates that Cyanotech is the worldwide leader in astaxanthin production, technology and marketing...”
