Clearly in a good mood after a +6.8% 3rd quarter, Dan Loeb of course quotes Thucydides ... and 2Pac's song "Keep Ya Head Up" to describe his $9.3B hedge fund's approach to Greek bonds. Presumably puzzling many Third Point investors.

Maybe when European debt turns in a poor quarter he'll need to quote Biggie's 6th crack commandment instead. Somehow it's not surprising that the two had different views on distressed debt investing.

Loeb's reasoning on Greek and Portuguese debt seems pretty persuasive to me. I like the increased focus on distressed debt. YHOO, AIG and GLD are more obvious - investors can evaluate and buy them without paying Loeb 2 + 20.

Third Point is listed on the pink sheets as TPNTF and in London as TPOU/TPOE/TPOG - I wonder if anyone on CAPS owns shares.
