Thank goodness:

Daschle withdraws as HHS nominee

One shady politician down, one million to go.  Too bad Geitner made it through.  I figured out a way for the government to fix its massive budget deficit.  All they need to do is create more cabinet positions.  They've already found thousands of dollars in "mistakenly" unreported taxes with just these two cheats.  Imagine how much revenue Uncle Sam could rake in if the cabinet was significantly larger.

I think he was a lobbyist for insurance companies too, or at least big on the PAC list.

Yeah, not a guy I want heading the HHS and reforming our healthcare system (although I do have to respect him for taking on that seemingly impossible task).

What is wrong with these people? Yeesh.

Is anyone else not surprised at these poor Obama picks?

The glasses are horrible. Here is a good synopsis of Geithner and Daschle's offenses for those that would like to come to their own conclusion as to whether or not these men made mistakes or are criminals.

Unfortunately, there is a ton of politics going into every one of these cabinet picks of Obama. I could have gone without Hilary being the secretary of state, and definitely am happy of Daschle getting kicked out.

My understanding is that Daschle was an early supporter of Obama, so this position was probably a favor being returned.
