David from Oregon

I think this is a scam and I am curious as to whether anyone else has heard from "David from Oregon."
I got a phone call in which the caller said that he was David from Oregon and he had seen my picture and telephone number on the web. I looked like someone who was interested in my health and he wanted to share with me information and a video on ABC,com (NBC.com?) that had helped him. We could talk more later. With that the phone call ended. I never said a word. At least not until the end, but by that time the caller was gone. It sounded like a real person, but I lean toward a recording because the spiel was so smooth. The only thing that was "personalized" was that he started with "Hello, Mary"
I am wondering if anyone else has gotten a call like this. There are several red flags in the message that concern me. First, my telephone number is not on the web - anywhere - unless you know my real and full name and then hunt for it. Second, the only picture of me that has ever been posted was in GoodVibe's CIL (sort of a Motley Fool chatroom back in 2010) and GoodVibe removed everything that was associated with him shortly after he left Motley Fool. Besides that was a 40 year old wedding photo (yes, I have been married that long and to the most wonderful man in the world!) Also, in real life, I am not Mary. That is the name that telemarketers and business people use. It is a way of weeding out people who know me from those who are trying to act like they know me.
I realize that I should have immediately spoken up, but I am in a state of shock at the moment. I have just lost a family member that was very, very dear to me in a motorcycle accident and I am reacting to everything a bit slowly at the moment. Otherwise I would know if this was a recording or a person.
I suspect that this is a scam and that this was a 'set-up' call. Most people probably have their contact info and pictures out there somewhere - either on Facebook, Linkedin, or some other social media. I just happen to be a throwback who doesn't want to put that stuff up. I doubt that anyone, even here, even remembers that one picture that was up for such a short time.
Have you heard from Dave or David from Oregon? What is his next step? If it is a scam, he has called the wrong person at the wrong time.
